"Monster" Colorado wildfire rages; Obama plans visit

Great. On top of everything going on here, now we have to deal with Obama. Heck, he'll probably stiff the city on the cost of security...like he has in many other places.

Obama...do Colorado Springs a favor: Stay away.

Yeah, he'll probably dump gasoline on it out of AF1's window as he flies over it, too. He's a poo poo head.

If he stayed back in Washington, you'd be screaming that he's sittin on his keister while the West burns.

I think he SHOULD stay in Washington instead of turning our troubles into a campaign event. We don't need him here. There are rules and procedures for the City to receive Federal assistance. Those rules are being followed and they are working. He adds nothing by coming...except more costs for the City.

    Exactly.

With Partisans like Mycroft Obama will never win.

He could save people like him from a burning building and they'll still bitch

    LOL!!

Do you seriously think Obama has the ability to save anyone? Get real.

He's not coming here to "save" anyone. He's coming here for the same reason The Weekly Standard wrote an article about our troubles: Partisan politics and campaigning.

I started a thread objecting to the Weekly Standard article and I apply the same objection to Obama's visit.

Yeah you don't get the point I'm trying to make, which is unsurprising considering you were one of those "I'm not a birther BUT" partisans.

I'm just saying no matter what he does, he loses for people like you so your opinion means very little.

And you are either blinded by your bias...or you can't read.

I've been very clear about why I object to him coming to the Springs.

    1. Added costs to the City.
    2. Using our troubles to further his campaign.

And, I'll add another reason I object: We have limited police resources and we need every last one of them to protect our citizens and their property. We have almost 40,000 people who have evacuated their homes. Our police is the only thing preventing looters from adding further devastation to those citizens. When Obama comes, the security HE will require will diminish the security OUR citizens require.

Now, Jetboogieman, I don't blame you for not caring about the citizens of Colorado Springs...after all, we don't exist in Klingon Space...but I WOULD expect the President to care about our citizens. The best thing he can do is STAY AWAY.

    More partisan hackery-
"like he has in many other places"

name ALL the other places President Obama has stiffed towns... I can only come up with one. But to use your whine, you'd better hope Willard doesn't visit either, he too has stiffed a town...

Interesting turn of events, the 'jack booted police' are all that stands between the citizens and complete lawlessness, with the balance of safety so razor thin the President coming to town will plunge Colorado Springs into total chaos....

Ummm when Oklahoma was hit by a killer tornado a few years ago we called out our National Guard to prevent looting.

But political hackery and hyperpartisan blinders don't allow for much rational thought...

I don't want Romney coming to town to capitalize politically on our troubles, either.

We do not have "jack booted police"...though you might in Oklahoma. And yes, our public resources are stretched very thin. Now, regardless your hyperbole...we won't plunge into chaos by any means...we DON'T need the added burden of providing for the President's safety just so he can make a campaign stop.

Dude...I am being perfectly reasonable here. If anyone has a problem with rational thought being supplanted by political hackery and hyperpartisan blinders...it's you.

And if he didn't go, you guys would be bitching about how out of touch he is and that he doesn't care that your state is on fire.
