anyone who knowningly hires an illegal alien should go to prison for a minimum of 5 years..and pay a $25,000 fine per each illegal they hire.

anyone who hires an illegal alien because they failed to check their status, should pay a $5,000 fine per each illegal.

inact these laws, and things will change.
If you enjoy paying $0.99/lb for apples and oranges, you wouldn't want such enforcement of immigration and labor laws.

ah, so in order to keep fruits & vegetables nice and affordable, we shouldn't crack down on employers who hire illegal aliens.

    gotcha.

I wish someone would edit the OP, as it is incorrect.

NO ONE is being offered immunity from deportation......only a short-term deferral.

It is a shame what happens when a nation becomes addicted to low-skill/low-wage labor.

mejico's economy is iomproving and growing at a faster rate than the US economy. No jobs here, they go where the jobs are. So yay...Obama's continued ineffectual term as president re employment and that 14 plus percent unemployment rate is at least causing illegals to leave. Another 4 years of the guy, hell mejico will likely have to worry about our illegal emigrants into their country.

this has been debunked on other threads. food prices won't skyrocket up if all illegal aliens are removed.

It appears that whatever the mood of the president is now defines immigration policy. The logic appears to be that since we "can not enforce the law as written" and deport all of the estimated 11 million illegal aliens, that Obama will decide which are simply to be left alone (not deported and given work permit papers). As I understand it, if an illegal alien came here as a minor (with their parent?), at least 5 years ago and is now under 30, and is in or has completed high school, then they are not subject to deportaion UNLESS they have committed another "serious" crime.
