Bombs targeting Shia pilgrims in Baghdad and police in southern Iraq killed at least 44 people in a wave of attacks during a major religious festival, police and hospital sources said.
At least 18 people were killed on Wednesday when four bombs hit Shia pilgrims across Baghdad as they gathered to mark the anniversary of the death of Shia imam Moussa al-Kadhim, a great-grandson of Prophet Mohammad.

In the southern city of Hilla, two bombs, including one detonated by a suicide car bomber, exploded outside restaurants frequented by police, killing 22 people and wounding 38. Two more car bombs killed four people in the mainly Shia city of Balad.

Violence in Iraq has declined dramatically since its peak in 2006-2007, but attacks remain common, especially in Baghdad. A total of 132 Iraqis were killed in violence in May, official figures show.

This is a damn shame. RIP victims. But before we invaded the country of Iraq there has never been a suicide attack in Iraq, now once we invade, this is the **** that happens and is becoming quite common in Iraq even when we leave. It was not worth it.

I wonder how many murders were commited in the US there were during the same time period? Many more than 132 is my bet.

Well, there you go. That excuses everything.

BTW, the US is a bit larger than Iraq, and most weren;'t kiled from bombs in a civil war. Differences matter.

No suicide attacks, but rather a ruthless dictator with two twisted ********ers for sons that had rape chambers and between the three of them murdered 300,000 Iraqis, not tomention atrocities committed in Kuwait and Iran.

Tens of thousands of Iraqis recently protested the the corrupt government. It may be that our invasion and occupation just delayed the awakening in Iraq.

That was when Saddam was our ally and Reagan had Iraq removed from the listing of terrorist nations.

We're not in Iraq, so it's not our problem anymore. They need to deal with it on their own.

Roosevelt thought Hitler was an innovater in the 30's, so...what's your point?

What exactly does Hitler have to do with Iraq, except to hide your false claim above?

About as much as your post has to do with anything. Congrats for catching on so quickly.

I refuted what you actually said. I made no claims about about FDR and Hitler.

Your effort to cover your false claim failed.

Largely years before we invaded. Makes no sense to wait for most of it to be over, than bring them war. But I suppose anything can be rationalized.

For along time after we leave, what happens will be linked to what we did. Actions have consequences.
