And stop pretending that "ACCESS" means unabated entrance into a place or information source.

It's pay-to-play, baby. Capitalism at its best...that is until it gets in the way of political motives by the NeoCons. Then it's "access denied".

    Stop dancing around the problem.

I'm not the one dancing around the problem here. The State of Florida already has a Memorandum of Understanding w/the DHS concerning their legal right to access the SAVE database. A read of both the abstract AND the linked article in my post you just quoted makes this very clear. The problem with Florida's election officials and its governor is that they are trying to use the SAVE database to illustrate that there are "illegals" in their state that are registered voters when it's very clear that the SAVE database isn't suppose to be used exclusively for the purpose of screening for illegal voter registrants. Moreover, the way FL is screening their electronic files makes it clear that they are unlawfully purging legally registered voters from voter registration lists.

Read the linked article and you'll get a better understanding of exactly what's going on there in this matter.

Sidenote: I believe there's something more sinister at work here, folks. Since most Republican held states can't win on redistricting, it would appear that FL at least has stooped to purging their voter registry for "suspect illegals". The irony here is Mitt Romney and Marko Rubio have been trying so hard to win over the Hispanic vote. Boy, what tangled webs we weave when first we try to decieve.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

Thanks for the link. I needed a good chuckle after lunch. In case you didn't read it, which appears obvious, the biased and one-side article does absolutely nothing to substantiate your foolish assertions.

It clearly states that Florida has access to an ICE database, NOT SAVE. It clearly states that Florida motor vehicle does have access, but not continual access as required to verify voter registration.

You are right about one thing......SAVE isn't meant "solely" to determine eligibility of voters, but it most definitely is one of its purposes.
