Trust, I know. But I do believe that Schilling got a lot of mileage out of his notoriety here.

I read a first article on this days ago, that went much more in depth into this actual business field. Something like "multi-player video games". It is a very complicated field. Companies can literally invest $200 million in a single game, with development and marketing. Comapred to other comanies in this field, Schilling was under-capitalized from the beginning. However, their first game did reasonably well.

Schilling went to the highest bidder. That is good business. He lost a lot of his own money as well.

I didn't suggest fraud. That would be you. I railed upon the hypocrisy.

Why is it when these right wing icons suck at the public trough and turn out to be hypocrites, the right wing lines up to support them? But boy, those welfare moms......

Obviously, not only a political genius but an economic one as well!

This is a freaking cluster ****.

I feel for all the folks who lost money on this.

And then there's the ginormous asshole hypocrite Curt Schilling. How ironic that we went to the government to bail his sleazy ass out. Not once, but three times no less. I seem to recall him being an ardent conservative who preached doing things for one's self and not being reliant on the government dole.

Do as I say, but not as I do.
So again, government should not be an investor in private companies.

See your earlier post ? As I noted, there is nothing in the articles that suggest "Schilling knew he was hemorrhaging money, but went back for more. Two times" at least in that Schilling was unethical, hiding finances, etc.

You made that up. Further, Schilling put up to $50 million of his own money into it.

This story also first hit about two weeks ago. As I noted, experts felt he was under-capitalized from the beginning. That success in this business costs a lot more than 38 Studios had.

Here is a better article on it, but still not the one I first read. I can't find that one yet.

That's not in the article. I was listening to the reporter from the Globe on the local sports talk radio (KJR Seattle) and he said that. Feel free to take it with a grain of salt.

But it certainly makes sense. The sequence of events all fit.

And please, do not suggest Schilling didn't know his company was losing money. That's just silly.

Gotta spend money to make money...even better when it is someone else's money.

I am waiting for just one conservative to call Schilling a hypocrite.

They can't do it. I love how easy it is for them to apologize for this prick.

Here is what is silly. You say, my parapharase "Schilling knew the company was losing money, on the ropes, but still went back for more".

Did you read the circumstances of when he "went back for more" ? He did it with all the finances out in the open. He did it after letting the state know, to include having to defer loan payments, that they were in trouble. The state decided to cut its losses, which was probably their first good decision.

    Do you see now ?
