"He who does not think himself worth saving from poverty and ignorance by his own efforts, will hardly be thought worth the efforts of anybody else." -- Frederick Douglass, Self-Made Men (1872)
The doctor and his entire family should have been stealth choppered out of that fvcking country within 24 hours of bin Laden's death.
If the man chose to stay in Pakistan it's his choice, but if the USofA did not make any and every effort to get him out early on, perhaps even before the raid that killed Osama, then we are truly a nation with no heart.
Perhaps this is a horrible way for us to NOT pay the doctor the reward for helping capture/kill the world's most wanted man.
No matter how you look at it, it's sickening.
Some times I hate these boards... well the titles.. First time I read the title of this thread, I thought Dr Who had helped capture Bin Laden.. and then I realised that it was about a Pakistani doctor.. sigh! gutted!
We must have a relationship with Pakistan..first we need access to supply routes...we need access to the terrorists at the moment and most of all Pakistans unstable arse is the most dangerous country in the world that has nukes...could you even imagine hamas or alqueda or the taliban toppling the govt and taking over all the red buttons...
We need to work diplomatically to help that dr and get him released...him jailed for helping us is an extremely bad situation...we need guys like that dr...
