Re: Catholics sue Obama over birth control mandate

    From the article:

The White House had no comment Monday, but referred reporters to Obama’s past comments that under his rule, religious organizations won’t have to directly pay for the services.

If there is a religious objection, the insurance company would be required to step in and offer the birth control services at no cost to the employee.
Oh, okay, no problem then. Someone ought to just tell the Catholic church that because there appears to be a big misunderstan-

Dolan and the Catholic groups argue the exemption does not go far enough...
Oh, wait, so they did know about that after all? What are they suing over then?

...and insist it’s a government overreach on their constitution rights.
“Does The First Amendment of the Constitution mean what it says?” Zwilling added. “You can't get more basic or more important than that."
“It’s not about winning a lawsuit. It’s about protecting our freedom, upholding the First Amendment.”
Um....wha?? Seriously, what are they suing over?

Good point. It works both ways. They are both protected from each other.

    Huge difference.
They pay for insurance, not birth control. The person insured decides if they get or use birth control, not the church.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

The five great lies of the Left Wrong:
We can be Godless and free. • “Social justice” through forced redistribution of wealth. • Silencing religious opinions counts as “diversity”. • Freedom without moral and personal responsibility. • Civilization can survive the intentional undermining of the family.

If we didn't make it the responsibility of the employer to provide, and instead opted for say a health savings plan of some sort that folks use to buy whatever insurance they wanted.... This would be the non issue it is.
