He "clarified" his position?
Didn't he already clarify his position in 2008 when he told MTV he believes marriage is "between a man and a woman" and that he is "not in favor of gay marriage."
Earlier this week David Axlerod said Obama's position was on Gay marriage was "evolving".
Isn't it about time America elected an adult to be president?
Somewhere back there I posted a letter written by Mitt Romney to the Log Cabin Republicans when he and Ted Kennedy were running against each other in MA in 1994....in it he was trying to gain their support by clearly stating the he believed in equality for gays...and, he believed that someday gay men and lesbian women would be able to freely serve in the military, thanks to Clintion's "compromise". However, in 2011 he said he would reinstate DADT "after the conflict ends"(he forgot to mention that when he was pandering for the LCR's vote).
Real quick: Before you reply with "civil unions are enough"(which Romney suddenly doesn't support) or something of the sort you should know that a "marriage", in the legal context, boils down to a binding contract. The benefits partners have by way of Civil Unions are the same benefits "married" heterosexual partners have. The only difference is that "married" couples enter into a legal binding contract. You guys are seriously up in arms over a
contract?! Lets be real here..."married" or not, gay people are still going to LOVE each other. They're going to live together and do all the same things "legally" married people do.
Love is the foundation of a marriage....not the contract. You are
never going to stop homosexuals from loving each other. Ever.
Why cant they be legally bound to each other like we can?
Anyway, I'm guessing Romney...devolved...since he once felt discrimination against LGB&T's had to stop and now he's clearly taken another position and, I gather by your very own words, highlighting the fact Obama has taken two positions and suggesting he's a child for doing so, that this "adult" we should elect is
NOT Mitt Romney?
Or is it okay to switch positions when it suits your beliefs?
"For some voters it might be enough for me to simply match my opponent's record in this area. But I believe we can and must do better. If we are to achieve the goals we share, we must make equality for gays and lesbians a mainstream concern. My opponent cannot do this. I can and will." Mitt Romney 1994
