Neo-Nazis elected in the new Greek parliament

THE Greek neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party will enter parliament for the first time in nearly 40 years, exit polls showed as ballots closed in an early election that could derail the country's reforms. The party is calculated to win between six and eight percent of the vote on rising immigration and crime concerns, comfortably above the three-percent threshold required for to enter parliament.
The group reacted jubilantly and claimed the result would translate into more than 25 deputies in the 300-seat parliament, a stunning blow to mainstream parties.

Thoughts??? Yes, you are correct. When things get so bad, the people just want it to stop and will support just about anyone to get it to stop. Problem is what stops it is worse than you ever imagined.

Maybe it sounds weird, but the fact the Greek neo-Nazis "only" made 7% of the votes is not that bad. Not that you get me wrong, 7% are 7% too much, but still, Greece is in a situation just as bad, if not worse, than Germany was ca. 1930-32, so 7% are much better than 34%.

The way to takeover a democratic country is to do so through the ballot box.....The Greek voters are voting for, the neo-nazi party that is slowly moving towards, the top

That's how Hitler rose to power.

I bet that there is 8% of the population in the U.S. who would vote for Neo-Nazis into office too if we had a multi-party system.

Especially if we were facing the same challenges that Greece is facing now.

Hell, Americans voted people into office who believed in the same thing the Neo-Nazis do in our two-party system.
Also, we need to legalize recreational drugs and prostitution.

You do have a point Sam...I remember I was shocked when I actually learned of just how visible, and vocal the Nazi party was in the 30's here. However, Europe is moving further into Socialism in France, and now this with Greece. This effects us, and God help us if Obama is re elected....

WASHINGTON — With the victory of the Socialist candidate, François Hollande, in the French presidential election, the White House has lost one of its closest allies on the Continent, but perhaps gained one with economic policy beliefs more closely aligned with its own.

Wow, the NYTimes...Now coming out saying that Obama policies are socialist?...We are in deep, deep trouble here.

Didn't Greece just elect their center-right party as a plurality in their government?
