Attorney in hijab defends call for other women at 9/11 hearing to wear 'appropriate'

Someone should explain to this idiot that no one is under any obligation to respect her client's religious beliefs.Hopefully women tell her that their God is not a closet homosexual and therefore has nothing against female beauty and out of respect for their religion they will continue to wear the same clothes they have always been wearing.

Attorney in hijab defends call for other women at 9/11 hearing to wear 'appropriate' clothing | Fox News
The defense attorney who wore a traditional Islamic outfit during the rowdy arraignment of the accused Sept. 11 terrorists is defending her courtroom appeal that other women in the room wear more "appropriate" clothing to the proceedings -- out of respect for her client's Muslim beliefs.
Cheryl Bormann, counsel for defendant Walid bin Attash, attended the arraignment Saturday dressed in a hijab, apparently because her client insisted on it. She further requested that the court order other women to follow that example so that the defendants do not have to avert their eyes "for fear of committing a sin under their faith."
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

She has no right to ask other people to abide by her religious beliefs. She should just be an adult about it.

If I were the judge, I'd happily help the defendents from committing a sin under their faith and have the defendants blindfolded then. I would wager they wouldn't want to be blindfolded, so she is just being an ass.

"If because of someone's religious beliefs, they can't focus when somebody in the courtroom is dressed in a particular way, I feel it is incumbent upon myself as a counsel to point that out and ask for some consideration from the prosecution," she said. "Suffice to say it was distracting to members of the accused."
Oh - I'm sorry: did their religion fail to teach them how to stay focused anyway and keep their mind on track aside from some flesh?

What losers - seriously. I just can't bring myself to respect the route they take to defend *the men's* views and it always just comes across as them being incapable snivvling immature college brats. I, however, have no issue with Muslim women wearing a Chador or Hijab - etc.

But the guys are just a bunch of morons with their views taht purely center around them NOT learning how to not molest women with their eyes.

But you know - she can do whatever she wants to please her clients. No one else HAS to - we're a nation of free experssion and indvidiuality and they can just kiss my ass trying to spread their beliefs on us.

Just delay tactics and nonsense. The WSJ put it nicely when they said, "these devout terrorists charged with designing the murder plot that took the lives of nearly three thousand people—and who have made no secret of their pride in the September 11 attacks—are, we're to understand, fearful of committing the sin of looking at an immodestly clad woman."

Not a fan of court room theater. These men are making a mockery of the justice system under which they're being tried, and in more than one way. Next she'll be requesting a declaration of mistrial over this, somehow spinning it to suit the request.

They have no legitimate ground to make such requests although I'm not surprised by their audacity.

    From the OP link.
Binalshibh then launched into a tirade ....."Maybe they will kill me and say I committed suicide," he said in a mix of Arabic and broken English.

That is a great idea. One I think is worth following through on. It is time to be done with this.

As far as the "appropriate dress". They are in a US military court, not a middle east court. Seems the accused and the lawyers representing them have little respect of our laws and court proceedings.

Sounds like what they need is a gag.

This just makes me want to embrace the short skirt and heels all over again.
