I am well more concerned for the suffering and cause of my own people than for peoples of other countries. They have to worry about themselves and be able to do for themselves. We must be able to do for ourselves.

You did specify me. I am a lefty. When you get your facts right, I won't correct you. That does not seem likely to happen any time soon.

Thats the attitude! **** the poor and helpless. I think that we need more consistency. If the rich are required to care for the poor here and so many liberals and democrats actively fight for that, then the rich (US) should be helping the poor (much of the rest of the world) as well. Consistency. One or the other. People are people. people don't stop being people at the US border. Thinking that just because a person is different from you they dont deserve to be helped when they are down is horrible. Americans are not the only people who deserve to eat and live.

Congress' intelligence heads: Taliban stronger - Yahoo! News

WASHINGTON (AP) — The leaders of the congressional committees said Sunday they believed that the Taliban had grown stronger since President Barack Obama sent 33,000 more U.S. troops to Afghanistan in 2010.
The pessimistic report by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., and Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich., challenges Obama's own assessment last week in his visit to Kabul that the "tide had turned" and that "we broke the Taliban's momentum."
We were pretty successful in Iraq because Bush laid out the course of action, got the Iraqis to drop their differences (for the most part) and all Obama had to do was follow the plan. Afghanistan is different. Bush didn't leave Office with a course of action laid out. As a result, Obama...who has no ability in foreign policy and no good advisors...has been quite deficient in working out a good solution. Such is the nature of Obama.

I think the best thing we can do is cut and run. The problem is...within a year, the Taliban will be back in power...in two years, Al Qaeda will be back in business there. In five years, we'll have another terrorist attack on our soil.

That's our reward for electing Obama.

Hey hey, there are 45 million Americans out of work who I´d feed for LONG before I paid for some person who´s never even seen a dollar bill. Call it patriotism. Call it hypocrisy. I don´t believe everyone in this planet is equal. Americans first. **** everyone else.

... Wait.... are you an American?

I don't care about the world's poor and helpless, I care about OUR poor and helpless. Tell you what. Once we eliminate poverty from America, we can start to worry about poverty other places.

And it has little to do with who deserves help and who doesn't. But rather that we cannot solve the world's problems for them and there are some things they'll have to do on their own as there are things we need to do on our own. Americans are not the only people who deserve to eat and live; but until ALL Americans CAN eat and live, I am going to place larger emphasis on fixing our own problems before addressing the problems of everyone else.

That is hypocrisy. It is sad that you'd want to see so many suffer. You are why there are so many problems in our world. You are the reason why we are not moving toward unity.
