9/11 occurred on Bush Jr. watch, not Obamas, not Clintons, not Elder Bush. It was an abject failure for which he was not personally responsible but was technically responsible. Also, 9/11 is becoming history, much less painful than in the years that followed.

Hmmm....So, the Afghan's are pulling a fast one? Getting to save face by claiming that they kicked out the Americans while preserving the ability to pull them back in when the Taliban waltzes back in now that they know the time line?

Precisely. We are easily manipulated. Eager, even.

And how convenient for Obama that he gets to tout this for his election campaign, when deep down he knows that we will just be right back there.

SOme can never see differences. Odd that.

Re: Obama flies to Afghanistan, signs pact with Karzai

The truth is Bush used 9/11 as a tag line to all his speeches in which he repeated the date to the exclusion of actually saying anything of substance. He took credit he wasn't due, and his VP even went so far as to say vote for us or die. Bush was the person who made the mess to begin with. He made a lot of political hay out of it, and went a long ways over the line.

And you pull up this and pretend they are equal?

You might want to catch Stewart tonight.

Did you forget that Afghanistan actually played a pivotal role in 911 -- unlike Iraq, which had ****all to do with it?
"The necessaries of life occasion the great expense of the poor. They find it difficult to get food, and the greater part of their little revenue is spent in getting it. The luxuries and vanities of life occasion the principal expense of the rich, and a magnificent house embellishes and sets off to the best advantage all the other luxuries and vanities which they possess. ... It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion."
