No, they destroyed tea that had been shipped by Britain, as the colonies weren't allowed to purchase tea from anyone else. Moreover, the tea was taxed, hence, taxation without representation.
The American revolution bears no resemblance to the hooligans tearing up property in Seattle.
and they're not "OWS". They're self declared "anarchists." They could be considered the extreme end of the small government conservatives.
I for one am glad they dumped that tewa in the bay. I hate the taste of tea.
