People do not see themselves as inherently evil. That is, they don’t claim to commit heinous atrocities against fellow man for the pure joy of it. They always have some bull**** rationale. Every rapist, shooter, armed robber, murderer, wife beater and petty thief all rationalized their behavior.
They all paint themselves as the victims, every single one of them, and I’ve met quite a few
The crimes they commit don’t change, only the reasons each gives to explain away his/her transgressions change
You NEVER know what's behind a smile and a handshake.
Believe this: There are real monsters among us.
This is so true. People wonder why I'm so cautious about my fellow man.... it's because back in my cop days I met all too many evil SOBs, some of whom would consider torturing children a fine evening's entertainment. Mostly they looked perfectly normal and acted normal and did not have a flashing neon sign over their head "WARNING- PSYCOPATH!"
