Giving weapons to thugs is not designed to track the source of illegal trade, especially to thugs in other countries. You can track the source of illegal trade when you are the source of illegal trade. It is a piss poor attempt by anti-2nd amendment loons to have an excuse to further **** on the 2nd amendment.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

Nice try. It was a poorly designed scheme to back door anti gun legislation like the new long gun registration rules required in the border states. But hey thanks for playing.

Straw gun sales generated by the US government that go to drug cartels across an international border, resulting in thousands of deaths; no, that makes no sense to me.

Mexico has been fracked for a long time, and I don't see that anything is going to un-frack it anytime soon.

It would make more sense for the Mexican government to eliminate the drug cartels.

dont you just hate it when people think ending supply will stop all problems, despite the fact it has never worked.

simple logic,if theres a demand someone will supply it,if you want to end the problem, end the cartels that want the guns dontend the guns, they will just buy them elsewhere.

If americans didn't put so much mexican blow up their noses or asses (yeah ask Stevie Nicks about that neat trick) or smoke so much Mexican weed, this would be a non issue

Really? Was that also the case when the Bush DOJ did essentially the same thing?
"The necessaries of life occasion the great expense of the poor. They find it difficult to get food, and the greater part of their little revenue is spent in getting it. The luxuries and vanities of life occasion the principal expense of the rich, and a magnificent house embellishes and sets off to the best advantage all the other luxuries and vanities which they possess. ... It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion."
