To place firearms in the hands of violent drug cartels? That makes sense to you?

Makes as much sense as giving Iran a nuke and saying its to help trace illegal nukes.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

The obvious part was to go after the 2nd amendment. Nothing more.

How do you better 'run' a program that provides criminals with firearms?

Some seriously stupid stuff you posted...

To track and eliminate the source of the tens of thousands of guns illegally going from the U.S. to the murderous drug cartels. That doesn't make sense to you?
"The necessaries of life occasion the great expense of the poor. They find it difficult to get food, and the greater part of their little revenue is spent in getting it. The luxuries and vanities of life occasion the principal expense of the rich, and a magnificent house embellishes and sets off to the best advantage all the other luxuries and vanities which they possess. ... It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion."

thats great, but the atf doesnt like to list untackable guns,or how many guns come from illegal manufacterers, why you may ask, because they cant track them

great lets freak out over those guns and ignore the fact they can get them just as easily from brasil austria and nicaragua,oh and im sure former soviet states will sell them ak-47's because the cartels have the money

I'm sure you have data to back up all those claims.

why would drug dealers want castrated American semi autos when Chavez had the Russians build a AK factor in his country and the guns coming from there aren't traceable nor limited to semi auto?

the ATF Cannot trace weapons not made in America. that is one of the things the anti gun clowns cannot figure out. Just because most of the Guns SUCCESSFULLY Traced by the ATF are american made doesn't mean that most of the GUNS USED BY THE NARCONISTAS came from the USA
