Man Beaten By Mob, Arrests Expected Today

I think it sucks that this happened, but I think it is also dishonest to compare this to cases where people initially weren't even going to be tried with anything. If the cops said, you know "Hillbilly right to defend your asshole kids clause" came into play, only to step back from it after realizing how badly they screwed up that would be one thing but it isn't. People are going to jail for this and no one questions if they should go to jail or not.

This is the key difference. See, for whatever reason you guys have this fascination with trying to make people that don't agree with your POV to seem backwards racist or something. If you were going to say, give me a thread where a black guy shot a white kid because he thought the white kid was up to no good and there is a chance he could walk, then I would be pissed. It seriously would aggravate me. This Treyvon martin thing to me what is more concerning is the law. I really don't give a **** either way about Zimmerman.

You find me some black on white crime where the guy gets away with it and then talk. Otherwise, stop it.

Yep, the problem in "call out" threads like these is that the crimes don't bear the key resemblance to the Martin case: the poor investigation that ended in no charges being filed. Cases where arrests are expected and comments like "X number of black on black crimes" happened last year where we know nothing about the cases don't have the key part that has sparked so much anger and frustration surrounding the Martin case.

Threads like these are just huge billboards saying, "I've missed the point."

Actually, you politicized it when you mentioned Eric Holder and tried to call out other posters for not doing something that they hadn't even had the chance to do. If you're going to politicize something, at least own it. Personal responsibility, isn't it?

It's auto-politicized by the simple fact that it was a mob, not a gang, a mob.

the cops believed it was self defense

pretty hard for the pack of thugs to claim that

I wasn't arrested when I shot someone, i was questioned after waiving my rights for 2 hours

then a cop gave me a ride home

why

1) I called the police

2) I told them where I was

3) I gave them my name

4) three witnesses I didn't see confirmed what I told the cops

5) the one mugger who wasn't shot lied and then in lockup told another inmate that he and his buddy had tried to mug someone

so what I said checked out and the cops knew I was telling the truth

sure a couple left-wingers whined that the two muggers were arrested and I was not

they were idiots

Too much work., I just bury the bodies.

This thread was started (I believe, correct op if I'm wrong) not to compare to the Trayvon case but to show the outcome of all the race baiting. The crimes in my post and the op was caused by people upset with the case. So I think you've missed the point.

This will be page three stuff and the media will whip no one into a frenzy. Among crimes, white on black is stop-the-press newsworthy, black on white or black on black not so much. It really is that simple.

The perps need to be rounded up and charged with attempted murder. There is no excuse. They should be easy to find. They're older relatives of the kids that were playing basketball.

That said, I wonder what Owens said to the kids playing basketball when he "fussed" at them. It must have been bad enough to enrage the perps. Your kid coming home and saying: "That man that lives by where we play basketball came out on the porch and fussed at us", isn't likely to enrage you enough to go beat him half to death.

indeed, what exactly did this guy say to them?

did he use the "n" word?

Please tell me you're not saying that if he called them a nigger he got what he deserved.

Not only that, but which of those are "hate crimes"?

Several have pointed out that the Martin/Zimmerman case attracted Sharpton, Jackson et al.

So why hasn't this case attracted Limbaugh, Boortz, Savage et al? It is an OBVIOUS hate crime - why does nobody speak up about it?

Because Limbaugh, Savage et al., are not race baiters. They're many things, but not that. Sharpton and Jackson show their true purpose when they avoid and stay silent.

But your honor...she DESERVED to get raped...she was wearing a sexy dress!

Wow, has THIS story ever morphed. It started with a mob beating a man, and now seems to be that it's Obama's fault that this happened.

There is another issue here - How some people here will put politics ahead of the story. My take on this? Arrest this group of punks and put them behind bars where they belong, but leave Holder and Obama out of it. They didn't commit the crime, or did they?

Finally, I believe that the vast majority of Americans want to see justice for Matthew Owens as well as justice for Trayvon Martin. Well, at least the police department in this case is not letting the perps walk free.

Why would you politicise this? Do you think this is Trayvon's fault?

This is the fault of the blind-eye of liberalism that ignores the racism of the left, of the black community. This is the fault of the overt race pimps such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and of the current crop of less overt ones, such as Obama and Holder. This is the fault of the liberal press that it is not PC to point out the massive failure of the black community. That will tell us how tall a suspect is, but not what color they are.

This is the ugly underbelly of American liberalism.

Well, now let's see these same posters out there defending Treyvon Martin come in this thread and show the same of Mr. Owens.

Think Eric Holder will dispatch the 'Hate Crimes Unit' to charge these 20 adults? Or even investigate it?

j-mac

These people will actually have trials and be convicted, which is how it's supposed to happen. If that would have happened to Zimmerman we would all have no idea who Treyvon even was.

I hope everyone that was in this mob is locked up for life. This kind of thing shouldn't happen. Fortunately there isn't some bull**** law that allows them to beat people up and get away with it.

Neighbors say Matthew Owens chased off a group of black kids with kitchen knives after the boys lost a basketball in his sister's yard. He was attacked by as many as 20 people with chairs, pipes and paint cans a short time later.

oh lol....

Wait, was he wearing a hoodie? Maybe he was asking for it?

People should listen to the president, Sharpston and Jackson and stick to people of their own race in terms of where they live and go by their logic and statements.

Obama has never said such a thing. There's no need to be dishonest.

Sharpton or Jessie showing up?

I was thinking Oxcy Rush or maybe Buchanan would be demonizing this, more their side of the street.

I suppose if Mobile had a history of suppressing the white man I'd agree more stink needs to be made, afterall we can't let people going around beating white folks for no good reason.

I think you would have to be a very simple soul to think there won't be some backlash after Trayvon. Not saying it is justified and not saying we know all that happened before the beating, odd to think there is no history to this, that it was the first time kids played in the street and not sure what the 'fussing' actually was.

But now would be a good time for the 'white' whiners to do as they said with the Trayvon case and wait for a few more facts before rending garments.

That ain't as much fun as kicking up a premature fuss and demanding equal time from the President.

We can't allow this to happen to anyone. This is America; land of freedom, justice and equality and all that ****.

Oh...I dont know...Im betting in Maryland, if the guy that got the beatdown had been out bashing all 20 of their heads into the pavement they would have been within their rights to have administered a beatdown in self defense.
