No. It really wouldn't. Your leap of logic is... amazing. Cirque du Soleil worthy.

I think you hit the nail on the head, what this is all about...just getting the gop on record as opposing it as a campaign tool.

However, if they are genuinely trying to override a supreme court decision...I am against that...that would start a tit for tat situation that wont be good for the country

Who said the republicans don't like the Supreme Court? From what I have seen, they very much liked it when that court started shooting down unconstitutional gun laws. I would say that the Republicans don't hate the Supreme Court, they hate the unconstitutional stance of the Liberal members of the Court, which is completely understandable to everyone but Liberals pushing unconstitutional agendas. Depending on the particualars of a case, they either like or dislike the moderate members, depending on which way they go on a particular issue.

If hispanics were logical, then, they would actually be for tighter immigration control. Almost all of the discrimantion and hatred targeted towards them is brought about by the percentage of their community that are illegal. It would make more sense for the legals to support the Republican agenda to tighten border control and end some of the discrimatory actions taken against them because of the illegals than to support an open border agenda supported by the Dems which will only increase hatred and discrimination. Of course, the vast majority of Latins in the US are Catholic, who's church is very active against abortion but the majority of them vote for politicians with a pro-abortion agenda.

But no interest or inclination in proposing a budget. Schumer and Reed are all party, country be damned.

What is it with democrats and their opposition to the law?

They fight against laws to prevent voter fraud, and laws to prevent illegal immigration.

And the Republicans oppose healthcare laws, and consumer protection laws, and stimulus package laws. What is your point?

And SB1070 in no way PREVENTS illegal immigration.
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.
