Good. It's called a balance of powers for a reason. It's good that DC has gridlock. If it weren't for the ability of congress and the president to block each others moves, we would be in deeper **** than we already are. Whenever legislation is being passed these days, it just means we are getting deeper and deeper into debt. If any president wants to be a dictator, there are openings in the Middle East.

Even so, he's circumventing the system. Our system of government was set up just for people like Obama. He is who the framers wanted to protect us from.

Well, I always laugh that whining about the media. Otherwise, congress is more the issue here, and others have noted that already.

That said, take some personal responsibility as it concerns the media. Don't blame others (the media).

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

Your pathetic attempt to derail this thread based on one miniscule comment in the OP is really sad Joe. Either talk to the issue of Obama bypassing congress, and the constitution, or go somewhere else....Thanks.

Fortunately our system includes three branches of government. If someone thinks that Obama is violating the separation of powers doctrine -- well, that's what the judicial branch is for.
"The necessaries of life occasion the great expense of the poor. They find it difficult to get food, and the greater part of their little revenue is spent in getting it. The luxuries and vanities of life occasion the principal expense of the rich, and a magnificent house embellishes and sets off to the best advantage all the other luxuries and vanities which they possess. ... It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion."

i dont mind him trying to beat republican obstructionism with executive orders.
he was elected to do things,
not just complain about republicans not letting him do things.
its actually sort of a relief that he had some sort of idea.

although if hed had all his ducks in a row the first 2 years,
he wouldnt have to scramble for a way to get around the republicans now.

He did have his ducks in a row for the first 2 years. He couldn't convince his own party, in either chamber, to do things his way back then, so I can't understand why anyone would think having a Republican House would make it easier.

Unless they are ruling on Obamacare...then the other branches think they are out of control.
