Shift on executive power lets Obama bypass rivals

Taking away our constitutional rights is funny to you?

No, but silliness that msirepresents something is. That's why the reference to Cobert. For a people who whine about bias a lot, you guys have a huge love for inaccurate bias. Even J misses the point. And the humor. ;)

No, it's because he's a Statist....just saying.

Actually, Bush nationalized more industry than Obama has. TSA functions used to be private industry.

Did you hate Bush for being a statist?

If the United States is a true Democracy, then the President should not act without the consent of Congress. To override Congress with Executive Orders is not democracy, but dictatorship. If Congress and the President do not agree, then it is the will of the People that nothing should be done.

Are you serious? Obama has had 100% Democratic support, or close to it, on most of his initiatives. I think it would be absolutely unprecedented if he got 100% support 100% of the time. Hell, Boehner can't even produce a bare majority of his caucus on important bills.

im quite serious.
obama may have 100% support now,
when the democrats arent the majority anymore.
but the first 2 years when they were,
he took almost as much heat from democrats as republicans.
he shouldve had his party ready to rule.
ready to do all the things theyve been saying for years needed to be done.
they couldve done everything they wanted to,
instead all they really did was barely pass healthcare legislation,
that may or may not even be legal.
outstanding.

Apparently Obama has plans for gun owners without the assistance of Congress after the fall election.

Obama: “I’m working on gun control under the radar” | Greeley Gazette

So what does gun control mean to a liberal democrat?

Didn't Joe Biden take credit for constructing the Clinton assault weapons ban?
I dont have a problem with banning assault weapons especially in densly populated inner city and urban areas. After all, this isn't Iraq and nobody should have to live in a combat in zone in the US, especially children.

We don't really know what would have been passed or not under normal circumstances. The economy got out of control and eventually crashed, which had to take priority over everything else. A lot of people's plans were derailed in Oct '08.

fair point
but our expanding national debt tells me
politicians are still willing to spend money.

Regardless of who is in office I doubt that will change. Sad but true. :-/ But most (over half) of what I've seen spent so far has been in mitigating the affects of the Crash.
