Just one more foreign policy failure by Obama. Maybe instead of a "beer summit" he should propose a "sake summit" or whatever it is the fat puke drinks.
They have a history of doing **** like that.

But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

The situation is so complex it's near impossible to imagine what's going on in the young dictator's head.
I seriously doubt he going to risk his comfortable lifestyle and power.

American should do nothing until they actually kill some people. The sad part is, both North and South Korea will be the main casualities in such a conflict.

BTW, China will never take NK's side in a conflict with NK. There's nothing in it for them or Russia to go to war with America and our allies. We'd have too many places to strike from and far more firepower. They'd bitch and complain, but do nothing when the bombs fall.
A man without fear is a fool, a man that succumbs to his fear is a coward and a brave man acknowledges fear yet presses on.

NK could reduce Seoul to rubble within hours with their artillery alone. In a conflict between NK and SK, SK would inevitably win even with minimal US assistance. The thing that's really held the whole conflict at bay is the risk of losing Seoul and the millions living there. SK wants unification but not at that high a cost.

Junior is just making these threats to prove he has balls. I don't think there's a real threat there.

They have dozens of thousands of special forces guys that will basically slip into the south and wilderness and wreak havoc... leg megapsycho green beret spetsnaz bomb building politician sniping 21st century pseudoninjas...

the past handful of wars havent gone so well for the US, and those countries were kindof pushovery...

I don't think the US is capable of planning properly for invading NK.

South Korea has some special forces guys who are just downright scary, and I heard this from an Army Ranger. SK is no pushover.

When the US was planning the Desert Storm operation against Iraq in '91, the news was loaded with people claiming the US would be overwhelmed by Iraq's "Million man army." The experts, and several former military ones, warned that the US would have a difficult time against the "technologically advanced" Iraqis. After the US handed Iraq the worst defeat in military history, now the experts are saying Iraq was a pushover the whole time. The follow-on invasion of Iraq in 2003 saw Iraqi forces decimated in just a few short weeks. THIS part was highly successful, where the US forces were doing what they were designed to do. The following 10 years of trying to be policemen was an utter joke, and shouldn't have been attempted. That was a mismanagement of US forces NOT a failure of US forces. So the US military is still an excellent tool for the job. None better. You just have to give it the right job.

The US could knock down North Korean forces like a house of cards, but I would agree with you that there is no plan to do so. The slightest move might trigger the complete destruction of Seoul within a day, and no reasonable mind wants to see that happen. Better to let North Korea wilt on the vine, which it's doing a very good job of achieving.

North Korea doing North Korea **** again.
No we should not be worried and here is why.

North Korea relies on aide from the South, China, Russia, and the US, which in turn is funneled into their military because of their idiotic "military first" policy. If they invaded the south all that aide would imediatly be cut off because not even China wants to get caught up in this cluster **** and their military would not last. Also the DPRK would have to get permission from China (their closest ally) to invade the South they would need their superpower backing to do it.
Also their is some common sense leadership in the DPRK. They do this **** all the time and the guys with the actual brains arent going to do ****.

They certainly wouldn't be able to accomplish much from the air. Only 40 planes in their inventory could be considered modern fighters (MIG-29). The bulk of their inventory are aging 1950's, 60's and 70's, 150 MIG-21 and 100 Shenyang F-5's from the 60's. Somehow I doubt there much updated with weapons systems and avionics since them. Add to that their pilots are estimated to fly only 15 to 25 hours a year training. I think their massive inventory of artillery would be destroyed quickly from the air.
