He now occupies a unigue niche of once-rockers who bash liberalism, who also speaks somewhat coherently.

With such as Natalie, they were at the top of their musical popularity when she decided to piss-off half of her followers. That was a far bigger number of music fans lost than political fans gained. With Nugent, the numbers are reversed. He had virtually no music fans to lose, and is now known, and on TV and radio, because of his politics.

But otherwise, I do agree. Just because someone is a successful actor or entertainer does not make them any more astute politically. And as I noted earlier as well, while I can appreciate Nugent's outspokenness simply because I agree with it, his draft-dodging record will always taint him in my eyes, and I believe the eyes of many vets.
I agree with what you have stated. So, if politics is saving Ted's notoriety, and politics is his new gig. Why should anyone care that his guitar playing gig got canceled?

Just how in the world does that, and should that, equate to not being able to own or possess a firearm?

LOL ... because in Nugent's newfound genre, it might have traction as a "freedom of speech" issue ...... and in all truthiness, Ted's career, and income flow, is aided more by this cancellation then had he belted out "Catch Scratch Fever" to a bunch of soldiers who were not born when it was recorded, and can't even hum along.

Don't get me wrong. A part of me likes Ted. But then again, I enjoy cheap beer too.

I have known people like Ted who just have this urge to kill things whether legal or not. Its a strange compulsion to me. Hunting is fine, but cooperate with the rules.

He had another infraction with illegal deer baiting a while back too. He is pretty irresponsible. A gun nut? Maybe. But definitely a nut of some kind.

This is pretty stupid. Did you even read the violation ?

You have no clue what Ted is like. You do not know him. He is not your friend, much less married to such as your sister. But yet you post assumptions about him which clearly show that you did not even read the article before you posted such drivel.

    Just more stupid internet ****.

Read the whole article, stupid, then come back and apologize:

Nugent isn't a law abiding citizen.

    It was a misdemeanor.

According to the document, Nugent illegally shot and killed the bear in May 2009 in southeast Alaska after wounding another bear in a bow hunt. The bow incident counted toward a state seasonal limit of one bear. Nugent and his lawyer, Wayne Anthony Ross, said neither of them knew about that law.

The judge said he wasn't aware of the "sort of one-strike policy" either.

All that happened was a mistake.
The judge wasn't even aware it was against the law.

If anything it was a witch-hunt.

Have you ever unwittingly violating the law?
Perhaps by driving faster then the speed limit?

If you have, were you as contrite as he was?

... saying he was sorry for unwittingly violating the law.

"I would never knowingly break any game laws," Nugent told the court. "I'm afraid I was blindsided by this, and I sincerely apologize to everyone for this."

    .
I guess the below misdemeanor would be another witch hunt, in your opinion?

As a hunter, Nugent has run afoul of the law before.

In August 2010, California revoked Nugent's deer hunting license after he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of deer-baiting and not having a properly signed tag.
Nugent's loss of that deer hunting license through June 2012 allows 34 other states to revoke the same privilege under the Interstate Wildlife Violator Compact. Each state, however, can interpret and enforce the agreement differently.
