So, freedome of speech is now reserved for only certain people? That say the right things?

I love how Libbos are all for free speech, as long as it's speech they agree with. Nothing new here.

    LOL...what?

I'm not going to take my time explaining to you what protected speech is.

So the Military is okay with fighting for our freedoms but not with Nugent exercising his Constitutional free speech rights? Got it.

Once again, this has jack to do with the 1st Amendment. Being uninvited to perform at an event is not a violation of anyone's Constitutional free speech rights.
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

Did they ever cancel any performances from musicians or celebrities who threatened or insulted Bush?

Jesus Christ, you don't have a constitutional right to perform at a concert somebody else is throwing. Nugent is welcome to perform at his own event at any time.

I love how conservatives think that everyone else must actively support their beliefs, or else conservative beliefs are being suppressed! Why do you think you have a constitutional right to speak at someone else's event?

I suppose you also think not teaching young-earth creationism in a science classroom is violating the 1st amendment rights of Christians.

"The necessaries of life occasion the great expense of the poor. They find it difficult to get food, and the greater part of their little revenue is spent in getting it. The luxuries and vanities of life occasion the principal expense of the rich, and a magnificent house embellishes and sets off to the best advantage all the other luxuries and vanities which they possess. ... It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion."

It is, when it's the government using it as punishment for political comments made in public.
