Lol you mean economist that work independently from the government? You seem to not know what the actual definition of a recession is. In general a recession is the continuing decline of many factors. Once these factors stabilize and don't continue to have rapid negative declines, the recession has ended, think of it as a recess in the ground for example. While the hole is still there, dirt is still getting piled on top filling the hole, even if it is with a shovel and not a bull dozer like many would hope.

Anyways, it is troubling to hear this, but I believe as a way to cut money from the program WIC or a WIC like program needs to be created to satisfy all and get rid of food stamps totally. There is far more accountability in the WIC program, and in the long run would far more more helpful to those in need.

I'd love to get in the game, but your side makes it impossible to even participate. Death of political competition is one of the first steps to aristocracy. Who am I to vote for? The same folk who caused the problems in the first place? Yeah, that will fix the problem. The Status quo has taken us here and support of the status quo will not fix it.

So instead I participate as much as I can in third party activities, and just count the number of times the founders are rolling over in their graves due to the travesty we have made out of their Republic.
You know the time is right to take control, we gotta take offense against the status quo

Honestly the way things are going, I think within the next 20 years we will see two new, very serious parties with a total of four in the mix overall.

I'd argue that. When you compare the policies of Bush and Obama, especially the foreign policies, there is virtually no difference. Bush expanded the power of the Executive Branch and Obama has done the same. Obama has continued to fight a hopeless war in Afghanistan and pushes for military intervention (eg Libya) and is engaged in the demonization and isolation of Iran, continuing the false narrative that they are seeking nuclear weapons.

I would be interested to see numbers. A student quoted in a speech the other day that actual abuses only add up to about 1% of those on food stamps. If true, and as it wasn't my class and no work cited turned into me, than it would be hard to better than that.

I quite agree. I would like it if the difference between the parties was as great as partisans like to claim. The sad truth is both are far too much alike.

I would be interested in seeing those number too. I know many people on food stamps who will take you shopping for your groceries and you give them cash equal to 50% of the transaction. Selling food stamps is fairly common. I am not going to estimate a percentage of people who do it, however, I can tell you that there is no shortage of people doing it. If I were to guess, I'd say that 1% was based on convictions.
