The left failed to get Limbaugh off the air, but the right succeeded in getting Rosen off the air.![]()

I think this whole situation is sad in another way. I think it demonstrates the degree to which the concept that stay-at-home moms don't work hard is engrained in our society. Even people who clearly support women's rights have that old instinctual reaction "what could she possibly know about [business/the economy/employment/etc.]?"
Both sides are to blame for this. Feminist liberals for stigmatizing stay-at-home moms as having no ambition, and misogynist conservatives for their condescension regarding the abilities of women in general.

Of course from this point on I'm sure conservatives will have no problem if liberals attribute any comment by Karl Rove or Rush Limbaugh to Mitt Romney ... right?
"The necessaries of life occasion the great expense of the poor. They find it difficult to get food, and the greater part of their little revenue is spent in getting it. The luxuries and vanities of life occasion the principal expense of the rich, and a magnificent house embellishes and sets off to the best advantage all the other luxuries and vanities which they possess. ... It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion."

Benghazists, the new birthers.

pretty much.
this week, it's a liberal working woman saying something mildly insensitive about a stay at home mom. next week, it will be a conservative saying something mildly insensitive about something liberal. each side will feign deep offense to use as a poker chip.
word to the wise : don't attack the spouse / family of a politician, even if that person is in the spotlight. it doesn't work.
I wish that she hadn't cancelled her appearance. She has plenty to add to any discussion on this topic.
Rosen spoke the truth, as Mitt has been disingenuous in his comments on SAHMs needing to know the 'dignity of work.'
Wouldn't that apply to his wife, or only wealthy SAHMs ?
