So why do Conservatives call the Affordable Care Act "Obamacare"?

More examples of the far right GOP kissing the fat and wrinkled asses of corporate America and working against the common people.

I wonder if this is an ALEC templated bill?

I think lawsuits should be capped; but I also believe they must include punitive damages. You say an attorney should represent someone for his "average cost." I remind you that these cases take, sometimes, YEARS to settle. Attorneys take cases on a contingency fee basis that costs the plaintiff nothing until a case is won. Take away punitive damages, and you've just removed the ability of everyone but the rich being able to file a lawsuit.

Attorneys have to shoot with an elephant gun. Just not as big an elephant gun as they currently own.

I don't know....the President or a Governor doesn't "pass" legislation and they don't "pass" a budget but they they have a large impact on both of those things. Ecspecially in the case of Walker or the ACA when they are working with a legislature that is controlled by their party.

I agree. If discrimination is proven then punitive damages should be awarded. Companies who discriminate deserve to get the fines in order to deter the behavior and punish the offenders.

It don't think winning a lawsuit should make you a millionaire or buy you a big house. But there should be some exceptions like if someone got a injury serious enough to prevent them working, but that's a separate subject from employment discrimination lawsuits.

I say average cost because this is to protect someone should he or she lose to someone who has a team of highpriced lawyers. So attourny fees should be capped to what one avagerage lawyer costs.Someone might be discouraged from suing if there is the possiblity that the person he or she is suing has a team of high priced lawyers like a corporation or big business.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

    Cicero Marcus Tullius
