Could mean they have enough evidence as it is. Who knows?
If they do, they're being super slow about it.

I think you have things a little backward here. People want charges brought come hell or high water. This DA, or the investigators have no obligation to do anything just because the mob says so. They are not required to appease anyone. It is there job to prosecute when they feel a crime has been committed and if they feel they have enough evidence to reasonably believe a conviction is likely. No prosecutor in my mind is going to go to trial with a case they don't think they have a realistic shot at winning.

Look at the evidence as we know it. I know the investigator certainly has more evidence than we do. But look at what we do have. Eye witnesses, injuries, ect that support Zimmerman's claims. In order to win the defense only has to convince 1 person out of 12 that there is reasonable doubt that Zimmerman did not commit murder. 1 in 12. Take a look at any realistic pool of potential jurors. You'd be hard pressed to find a group of 12 people, especially with the defense participating in the jury selection, that would all vote for the prosecution. The defense has a strong defense. The prosecutor knows this. If DA brings charges to appease the mob, they are then going to have to deal with the backlash of failing at trial (see casey anthony which happened to be in florida too).

Personally, I dont think the DA is going to do it. I think this is the first step in the letting people down slowly routine. This will put some doubt in people's minds. They let soem time pass and now this. After people react and it dies down a bit, they will gradually keep dropping other hints at no charges until they can safely finally publically announce it.

There's no point in a grand jury. He's confessed to the killing and is claiming self-defense-- it either goes straight to trial or the charges will be dismissed. Grand juries are for deciding whether or not there is enough evidence for an indictment.

It may also mean that she does not want to leave anything to chance.
A No-Bill by a Grand Jury could limit her ability to control the situation.

Listening to the radio here it sounds like she would have needed a grand jury if they were going to pursue first degree murder charges only (still would if it came to that). I dont think anyone actually things first degree charges would be warranted so it makes sense not to.

Unless I am missing something, this means that they have decided not to pursue charges.

    CNN.com has similar news:
Not the case. Grand juries in Florida are only for 1st degree murder cases. It means that Zimmerman won't be charged with murder, although it looks like he is going to be charged with manslaughter as early as this week. I can agree with that. Zimmerman's behavior doesn't warrant murder charges, but he was reckless, and that recklessness led to the death of Martin. So this would be an appropriate route for the system to take.

Zimmerman was not reckless. Martin's death was caused by him engaging in felony aggravated assault and attempted murder of Zimmerman.

Look, I understand many people don't give a damn about other people and live their lives as cowardly and self-centrix as possible. That doesn't not make not living in total apathy of others and as a complete coward a criminal offense.

How can they take him to trial about anything without an indictment?

This speaks to the problem she now has. If she brings him to trial, no matter the evidence, some will see it as you lay out here. If she doesn't, others will build a similar case that she was hell bent to not press charges. Instead, I think the third option should be what evidence does she present either way.
