Politics Obama administration points to rise in GSA costs under Bush amid conference

Re: White House points finger at Bush administration for GSA debacle

My problem is not with the fact that it happened. Or the fact that people were fired. Personally I think charges should be pressed against those involved but any action is something. My problem with Obama on this is he, like he does with everything negative, is he deflected the blame. He does not seem capable of accepting responsibility for anything.

You know he's running for reelection, right?

Re: White House points finger at Bush administration for GSA debacle

Heard this morning on the local news, the GSA planners of the Las Vegas bash, are getting a bonus for doing such a fine job of spending taxpayers money. Da*n that George W. Bush. The man as some kinda skills having that "future" bonus clause put into the budget for these civil servants.

Bush sure has a L..O..N..G reach. Or was this done under the Obama watch?

They received a bonus before this became well known. Now, as far as I've heard, the responsible parties are being fired.

I think what they did with our money is reprehensible, and I'm glad people are being fired over it, but that doesn't mean that we should just start lying about things.

Just another government agency that doesn't care about the people they serve.

I do believe the head of GSA resigned, she was not fired, yes? Maybe she went back to Ben & Jerry's, who knows.

Tell me what I was lying about.

Right, she resigned like Rumsfeld resigned.

Is this the thread on Rumsfeld? Gee I'm sorry for posting in the wrong thread.

[Point goes over head]

Point being that it's common as dirt for Presidents to allow high-ranking officials to "resign" when they've actually been fired. It happened with Rumsfeld and I'm sure that's what happened here.

And it will happen again. Resignation is the way to not publically humiliate the person.

Point is you're trying to change the discussion.

The thread is about the current admin's GSA over expenditures on the current taxpayers dime, in the current fiscal year, in the current economy, yes? I know you want to "look back", but try to stay current, okay?

Is this 2010?

Point is that it was a shameful abuse that went on for awhile and now it's being dealt with. In dollar terms it doesn't even rise to the level of a rounding error in the budget picture. You obviously want to turn it into yet another anti-Obama rant.

Hey I said "da*n that George W. Bush, didn't I? I don't know how he did it, must be majic, but someway he was ultimately responsible for the bonus given to these GSA folks in 2012.

Back to reality. What does 2010 have to do with the bonus given to these people? I mean other than the obviouse deflection.

I realize you really, really, want to blame everyone in the past admin, but that is quite a s-t-r-e-a-c-h, don't you think?

Ah, okay, I missed the bit about the $9,000 bonus.

It's only being dealt with because it was exposed. When it was exposed, the president doubled down on his "blame bush for everything", nonsense.

Someday, it will be his fault for something. yes or no?

What you missed is this fiasco happened under Obama's watch.

But you can go all the way back to George Washington Adminstration and this mess will still belong to the Obama Admin.

When dealing with Adam you have to realize he is not capable of actually discussing a topic. He thinks as long as he can point to anyone in history who has ever done anything wrong then it automatically justifies anything that any democrat does. They can do no wrong no matter what as long as someone in history has ever done anything wrong.

Looking back must make some folks happier. :)

What you missed is that it happened under both Obama and Bush's watch, but of course one isn't permitted to point that out.

But once again -- it was a **** up, it's being dealth with. It should have been dealt with sooner.

When dealing with me I'm afraid that you will have to view things in context and not pretend that the world was created in January of 2009.

Why does it need to be pointed out? nothing can come of trying to make excuses for the Obama. It's his mess, he is responsible. who does the buck stop with?

It needs to be pointed out, IMO, because it's factually true.

Re: White House points finger at Bush administration for GSA debacle

Sorry, but it's obvious that Republicans are trying to turn this into a political football. If your team wants to play partisan games, don't whine when the President responds in kind.

Democrats created the GSA, like most every governmental money pit. To blame Bush is just truly spineless and weak.

what does it solve by doing so? what purpose does it serve? Please, explain.
