The 20-16 Senate vote is a major victory for the proposal, which would make life imprisonment the maximum penalty in the state. The proposal is expected to easily pass the state House of Representatives, and Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has said he would sign the legislation into law if it reaches his desk.

I am actually shocked that CT would do this now. No, I am not shocked that CT would get rid of its death penalty, but that it would do it now. Turmoil still exists from the Home Invasion murders in CT.

There is no question to these two guys guilt. These are the people CT wants killed, so again, I find the ruling surprising.
