You know the time is right to take control, we gotta take offense against the status quo

Just another proof that New England is truly living up to its name.... A New version of the same old English liberalism and socialism that has been killing this country for a century and a half.
Since the 1860s? What liberalism is that?

I am fine with Life in Jail, but I always wonder about the "amenities" that are provided in jail.

But don't turn us all into killers.
As a former CT resident, I don't find this at all surprising. I remember very well the way the state treated David Peterson, the man who stabbed a 9 year old girl 34 times in broad daylight on Main St in my hometown in the summer of 1989. Connecticut refuses to even protect its own employees, as I seem to remember at least one cop-killer having a death sentence commuted to life in prison.

There are two types of people in the world Paschendale.... Predators and Prey. I prefer to be the first. You apparently prefer to be the second.

Exactly. You don't try to reason with a mad dog. You don't lock it away somewhere and try to make it feel better. You deal with it.

As a conservative, I don't think the government should get to decide who has to die. Limited government is the best way to go.

That only works when your citizens are decent enough to do the right things on their own. US Citizens aren't worth a bottle of warm spit combined so far as I'm concerned.

I typically rate us higher than that, but I am a big homer like that.

In the CT case, I would argue that the killers are worse that dogs.

Re: Connecticut Senate votes to abolish death penalty amid victim concerns

I think the death penalty is an acceptable punishment where someone has shown a supreme indifference to the right of life of others (multiple different events showing a pattern of ruthless, cold-blooded behavior) and the murder has been proven beyond certainty. In other words, people like Hitler or Osama bin Laden should be executable. I do not think it is appropriate for the death penalty to be imposed in other situations, however.
