We can talk about that when the issue of abortion is on the Supreme Court docket but it is not.

Well, if that's the way you want to see it, then by all means. It's not exactly according-to-Occam's Razor, though.
It's not "tolerance" if you already approve of what you purport to "tolerate."

What he was saying, IMO, is that the Court is supposed to give deference to duly passed legislation and the inquiry is more in the nature of trying to find a way to uphold it as opposed to trying to find a way to strike it down.
"The necessaries of life occasion the great expense of the poor. They find it difficult to get food, and the greater part of their little revenue is spent in getting it. The luxuries and vanities of life occasion the principal expense of the rich, and a magnificent house embellishes and sets off to the best advantage all the other luxuries and vanities which they possess. ... It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion."

Moreso than your vague conspiracy theory type accusation that Obama is trying to influence people by...well, by saying things they have no obligation to listen to and who they know has no power to get at them,

So if they repealed women's sufferage, they should give "deference"?

Not how I meant that: the justices know better than to think Obama can do anything to them or that his word has any bearing on the case. And yes, Obama does know this.

Given that he graduated magna cum laude, president of Harvard Law Review, and taught con-law at one of the country's best law schools, it's pretty clear that he knows better than anyone here.

Well that's sure a new one ! Supposed to "give deference to duly passed legislation ..... " ... that is a pantload of liberal caca.

No. It is supposed to give deference to the Constitution. Since Marbury vs. Madison, has established that it has review over Laws passed by Congress and signed by the President, and has overturned over 150 of them.
