Spike Lee, the noted film director and civil rights activist, is in talks to resolve complaints from a Florida couple who say they were forced from their home when he retweeted their address to his Twitter followers as part of the ongoing furor surrounding the shooting of Trayvon Martin.

Elaine and David McClain, in their 70s, left their Sanford, Fla., home after their address was tweeted by a man who thought he had found the home of George Zimmerman, the 28-year-old who shot Martin, 17.
Martin, a black 17-year-old, was unarmed at the time of the shooting. Zimmerman, 28, the son of a white father and a Latina, said he fired in self-defense in the Feb. 26 incident.

The McClains happen to have a son named William George Zimmerman who lived there in 1995. Their son is not related to the George Zimmerman who shot Martin.

Trayvon Martin: Spike Lee apologizes for retweet that drove Fla. couple from home - latimes.com

I hope like hell Lee goes to jail for this. Unconscionable.

This elderly couple could have been killed because of Mr Lee's irresponsible tweet. This thing has gotten way out of control thanks to the race those who are inciting hatred.

LOL, you hope he goes to jail? Please. I'm he apologized though. It was dangerously irresponsible.

There is plenty of hatred going around from all directions. But what he did was akin to yelling fire in a theater in my view. Criminal.

Couldn't that be considered reckless endangerment?

.
I suppose so, but I doubt it would work with the defense attorney Lee can afford.

I left out baiters

It'll make for a tidy little civil suit, though.

maybe the elderly couple have Victor "the cleaner" on speed dial

Hey victor-make this guy "go away"

Ok boss will do

The Sanford police allowed Zimmerman's cell number to be released on the 911 tape.

should they too go to prison?

Doing something like this, with the intent to inflict (potentially lethal) harm to someone else, damned well should be.
It would be hard to prove that he intended to hurt someone.

And that endangered Zimmerman how?

It takes one google search to link a phone number to an address. Also, Zimmerman mentioned part of his address on the tape.

and now Roseanne Barr is attempting to expose Zimmermans' parents to the same level of threat.

Apparently it's "Good to let ppl know that no one can hide anymore"

Classy. Real Classy. Good to note our professional Left-eratti haven't responded to the fact that this case turned out to be alot more complex than the simple narrative they all leaped on in the beginning with humility, or anything, but rather thuggery.

You would have to prove he "intended harm" when all he did was RE-TWEET the address. He wasn't the first to tweet it.

you would have a better case with the person whom the tweet originated from, however, even that would be difficult to prove intent on that as well.

The only reason this is making news is that Spike Lee is well known whereas all the other dirt bags that tweeted it aren't getting any mention whatsoever.

Are you saying Spike is a dirt bag?

Ummm no. Not a cell number unless you want to pay.

Also, Zimmerman mentioned part of his address on the tape

At the end of the day, what was Lee's intent? I'd say it's not at all difficult to figure out.

Spike Lee can afford to pay off the errors of his ways. Just sell a few more tickets to the suckers like Michael Moore does.

No, they should go to jail or somewhere for being piss-poor cops.
