So you'd have no problem with me reciting the Koran on your front yard then?

I mean, not preaching or anything, just reading out loud.

was the parking place public? Isn't it much more likely that it was a DMV parking lot.

I think that people shouldn't even need permits. The First Amendment is my permit bro

You are muddling up the two and making them the same when they are not. Also as a side note, this was NOT private property. A state run entity is public domain.
I think you missed the part were it looked like he was asked to leave by a security guard

OK, why then was he reading the Bible?

So since reading from religious literature on someone else's private property is OK, it would be totally acceptable for me to come over to your house and start shouting verses from the Koran, right?

"I wasn't preaching officer, it was a very interesting story!"
No, if you came on my property with a Koran I'd probably shoot you. But it's my property so I can do that.

According to this story, he was charged with demonstrating on STATE property without a permit. So, there's the proof it is state property. Also, I looked on Google maps and this place does not share a parking lot with any other business.

I also found something that, before, the men had been warned about getting a permit to be there weeks prior. The article also says that a group did get a permit and were allowed to be there as long as they did not interupt the activities of the DMV.

Organizations use a "Permit" requirement so they can deny the ones they choose to.
