    And well deserved.
"The necessaries of life occasion the great expense of the poor. They find it difficult to get food, and the greater part of their little revenue is spent in getting it. The luxuries and vanities of life occasion the principal expense of the rich, and a magnificent house embellishes and sets off to the best advantage all the other luxuries and vanities which they possess. ... It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion."

"You guys jump to conclusions much" ... DiAnna.

I suppose I was just being one of the guys..

Anyway, National security, and allied commitments is not a comodity to be negotiated for. Election year or not, all Obama had to say was that our missile defense system is not negotiable, period!

the fact is making anything of this is definitely jumping to conclusions, ones based on nothing but guesses and its funny that he did it with your post also the way he did it with this. Common MO in deed.
Hmm.. Don't we all do this to some more or lessor degree? Syntax is rarely an artform if ever on this site, so one can only do thier best to infer what people actually mean when they write the words they say and put them into a sentence. For instance, one reading your post would infer that you seem to have a great deal of knowledge about my posting habits, which in-turn would infer that you have a man crush on me of sorts? You prefaced your first post with the notation that you hadn't actually read the article, and then went on to render judgement on people's reactions to said news article even though you yourself were beginning from a position of complete and utter ignorance. You want some credibility? Perhaps (And this is just me being me and my common MO here) you were simply looking for some love from DiAnna, -or-, maybe you were trying to pick a fight with me? Wouldn't want to infer your purpose for the successive posts in this thread, but when we look back at them, well, they really don't amount to anything profound, and certainly not very helpful in moving the thread along. Perhaps with a tid-bit of insight that would help all of us assertain what you might actually be thinking would have been more helpful, but then again, no one would probably care what you thought, since you pretty much told everyone before you actually said anything that you really didn't know anything anyway.

Maybe next time Objective-J... <--- Kind of a misnomer, eh?

On topic: I think time will tell after/if Obama is re-elected.

My God....am I ever glad we ended things before you started acting like a freakin' A$$hole. Seriously, I dismissed you because I felt you lacked the ability to entertain thought, comprehension, and rational mindset, and your very next attempt at socialization not only follows the seemingly inept mind, but is mean, nasty, and unworthy of respect.

Really? I'm nasty? In your offended mind I'm supposed to allow Adam T to say to me - "And if you don't understand that you're a freakin' moron." - and not tell him/her to stuff it? I guess it's just those that take a opposing view to your view that are offensive, yes? It's okay for your team to call others "moron", yes?

I don't call others on the board any derogatory names. I attempt to debate my point in an adult way; like I was trying to do on this thread concerning President Obama's comment on "flexibilty.

Now if my post was not to your liking, then be offended. I treat others with respect and expect the same in return.

As I said before, I was joking. If you don't understand that ad hominem is a problem you're a moron? Get it? Moron = ad hominem? I even added the winky emoticon as a big fat clue.

Wonder what this flexibility is that he'll have after he wins a 2nd term? On a clear day the President can see forever.
I agree its wrong for policy makers to consider their potential re-elections when it comes to policy making, however its an inevitable fact of a democracy. Going all the way back to Athens when a bunch of Athenians put off the vote to attack the Spartans until after their elections. Or more recently in 2004, the last time we had an incumbent President running again, Bush put off the attack on Fallujah until just after the elections to avoid the negative press coverage of increased fighting and causalities.
