Dick Cheney receives heart transplant

Most people don't realize all factors that go into a heart transplant.

hard part is finding a good match so the procedure has a good chance at being successful. My guess is, Cheney was a hard heart to match....
Hey, I voted for him, twice.....he owes me...:2razz:

I am not a liberal, pretty much voting GOP since 1966, and I don't like insurance companies who try to deny PAYMENT for life saving services...
When you have a 7 year old grandchild dx'd with an inoperable brain tumor, and the insurance company tries to claim pre existing conditions, it makes you want to reach out and grab someone, by the throat...

Good point Bill. I can't imagine. I have been blessed to be relatively healthy so far, so have my kids....Just a few more years, and they'll be on their own.

Having a very rare heart congenital condition I'm very lucky we have the resources we have including SSDI.

so, do folks actually think that an old smoker should get a kidney transplant before a young athlete, simply due to placement on a list?

health, age, lifestyle, should have NO bearing on their placement on such list?

The rule for heart transplants is one has to demonstrate they can quite smoking for six months before being put on the list.

The same goes for taking your prescribed drugs and eating a heart healthy diet.

Only the one's that have a long history....longer than you've been here, sonny.

Nope, no one has said that. Sorry, try again.

folks seem to have no problem with Cheney getting a new heart before someone healthier and younger.

I say, once all the healthier/younger folks get their heart, then Dicky can get his.
