Predictably, Santorum got slaughtered in the Puerto Rican primary and as a result fell another 20 points behind in the delegate race.

I'm starting to see how he got crushed in his Senate reelection bid....
"The necessaries of life occasion the great expense of the poor. They find it difficult to get food, and the greater part of their little revenue is spent in getting it. The luxuries and vanities of life occasion the principal expense of the rich, and a magnificent house embellishes and sets off to the best advantage all the other luxuries and vanities which they possess. ... It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion."

It could actually be smart if he thinks Romney cannot get enough delegates to win outright. Then the delegates don't matter, but positioning himself as the voice of conservatism does. Intrade has brokered convention at 13.5 % chance.

Let's see... ads in Spanish, signs in Spanish (often misspelled, but still Spanish), "para Espanol, oprima el 2" is still heard from the phone robots, election materials come in English and Spanish... in short, no difference at all.
But it was soooo important to pass that....

Only if he's not planning on winning the actual election. Obama won't even have to run negative ads, or if he does they'll just be clips of "Rick's Greatest Hits."

He would have to assume that he would be the candidate to emerge from a brokered convention, which is farfetched given the fact that Romney will have far more delegates, more money, a better organization, and generally polls about four points higher against Obama.

Re: Santorum: English must be adopted by Puerto Rico

I am registered Independent. I normally vote against the incumbent primary because as a citizen it is my way of attempting to keep the bastards from being re-elected. Point is, I'm don't support either party.

Santorum is an idiot. He has been, is, and will continue to be, an idiot. This may come as a surprise to many of you, but America is on a sliding board toward oblivion. Santorum isn't offering much of anything toward the promise of resolving incredibly serious issues the nation faces. Social engineering (used to be a term Republicans hurled at Democrats) isn't going to solve our economic, domestic and foreign issues.

Seriously, I couldn't care less what language Puerto Ricans speak. I've been there several times. Most people speak English except for the older ones. But the point is, it isn't a national issue and shouldn't be, certainly not now. Santorum, however, has the brains of a large rabbit.

I forgot to add to a previous post that I like Puerto Rico. The people there always treated me well. The food is outstanding, the island is beautiful.
