While sure, in a broader sense, I don't want government involved in healthcare at all... if it's going to do so anyway I REALLY don't want my tax dollars going to abortion providers, in this or any other state. That's just insult to injury.
To paraphrase John Stewart a bit:
When I get a refund check for the war in Iraq, shady defense contracts, and abstinence-only education programs, I'll pick up the tab for you on abortions and breast exams.

You realizing you are comparing Federal v State and State v Citizen, right?

If you want to use those terms, it'd be Texas which declared war and the Feds which said, "LOLWUT?!"

Obviously by passing a law that they knew would get women cut off from health services.
"The necessaries of life occasion the great expense of the poor. They find it difficult to get food, and the greater part of their little revenue is spent in getting it. The luxuries and vanities of life occasion the principal expense of the rich, and a magnificent house embellishes and sets off to the best advantage all the other luxuries and vanities which they possess. ... It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion."

It made about as much sense as you asking if Democrats are waging a war against Texas women.

Yeah, I'm not liking this trend of limiting access to women's health issues being a political football. Texas just cut off access to women's health services to hundreds of thousand, if not millions, of women, most of them dirt poor and uninsured. Just when I thought legislative misogyny couldn't get any worse...

    that's not really accurate.

Texas disqualified certain providers from receiving public funds( those whom provide abortion can't receive public funds under Texas law).. the federal government cut off women's health funding in response to that law.

thus far, Texas is stepping up to the plate to pay for those women's health care that has been cut off by the federal government.... they said they will come up with the money (somehow) to make up for the federal funds
