Sort of like the drone strikes that bomb civilians en masse regularly that are promoted by Obama and his cronies. Oh wait, this was just a "rogue element"; nothing to see here, move along.

    In general yes

If a foreigner is a murderous thug it will generate more outrage then if a local is a murderous thug

So while the Taliban are murderous thugs, they will not generate as much outrage as this soldier did among many Afghans

And how do the Afghans appear to feel on the issue?

Do they seem more outrage by the Taliban killing people or by US soldiers killing Afghans

With all respect, go ask them. I wouldn't know.

Do you not pay attention to the news?

It appears that many Afghans are quite upset about it, seemingly more then are upset with the Taliban

Mya..."defending Americans" is not against the forum rules. I don't know where you came up with the idea that "defending Americans" could potentially get you banned. The only way for you to get banned would be if you happened to break some other rules in the process of "defending Americans."
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

Do we have rules to defend Americans?

Isn't it understood we are on the American side?
What rules do you need to defend American troops?

I simply do not get it ... you are with Americans and you defend them or you are not! Period!
