I honestly didn't know if he understood that with the way he pushes alternative fuels. Nice to see for a change. Not a big fan of the tax credits for any energy source, but making available places to get them makes sense.
You mean to tell us that you support one of the biggest rip offs in recorded history?

That's just it, we don't have a surplus of cheap oil. The US hasn't produced as much oil as it consumes since 1971. With the world demand growing faster than new cheap supplies of oil, the price keeps increasing. It has been increasing since the 70's. Its why our highest oil production in a decade now, has not lowered world oil prices one bit, at least as far as I can tell. How about you? Have you noticed gas prices going down due to our increased production?

We just covered this. Demand is up. I fail to see how less oil would make gas prices go down. What is you reason for why we should produce more oil?

World demand, except for depressed activity due to the world recession, has been increasing for the last 40 years. Despite our increased production, oil prices continue to go up.

Which is why we should produce MORE. Actually, we should produce more because it would create jobs, wealth, and energy. And its the right of the citizens who own the resources to use them as they see fit. I have yet to see you explain why not.

I agree with the idea that your suggesting but alternatively we should be putting the resources it would take to produce more oil into reducing our dependency on oil.

If you mean govt resources (spending), then I think those should be cut, period. Oil companies and alternative energy companies can spend their own money on whatever they want. Get the govt out of the way.

The government should be using its money to encourage alternative energy spending. Considering some of the wasted money out there now, i dont see any reason why it isnt a perfectly reasonable idea. Oil is far more destructive to the environment than the alternatives.

We all need oil and gas prices to reflect the true cost of using that fuel. Right now, your oil consumption is being artificially subsidized by your grandchildren's generation.
