If it was an affordable solution rather than just a conservative campaign slogan the GOP would have done when they controlled the presidency and both houses of Congress.

Not if you do not care if the economy is sustainable as you stated before.

This is easy, a tax cut is a cut in the actual tax rate that is applied to all persons or businesses. Reguardless of spending.

A tax credit means that if you spend money, in the right area, on the right thing. At the end of the year you can claim it as a credit toward taxes paid.

In other words, businesses and individuals would actually have to produce American jobs to get a tax break, rather than getting a tax rate just for being rich, whether you invest in jobs for this country or not.

That makes too much sense. Conservatives will never go for it.

What part of the fact don't you get that the world demand for cheap oil is close to outstripping the world stripping the world supply?

We have the highest oil production in a decade and we still can't meet but half our own demand for cheap oil, how could we possibly increase our supply of cheap oil to satisfy the increased demand by the rest of the world?
The part where its a fact. Supply is 98% of demand. Reserves are 100x demand. Those are actual facts. There is plenty of oil in the world, and plenty in the US if the fed would allow it.

What practical reasons are you looking for? There is a limited supply. Consuming all today would be irresponsible. The world needs more affordable energy. Rather than depending on oil, we could be using renewable resources that are far cleaner for the environment. If oil ran out today, the world would be screwed. And your mindset is what's going to cause it to happen.

Oil wont run out today, or any practical timeframe. And nothing is stopping YOU from using whatever renewable energy you want to use. Why cant YOU go use it and leave us petrol users alone?

100 years. But Im not sure how its relavent to my argument of liberty. My having access to oil that the govt currently restricts access to has little effect on you. You can still use all the solar power you want. So you do your thing, and Ill do my thing, and we'll all live happily together. Thats the whole point of the USA anyway.
