In any case, if the other team is calling them "Alamo Whites" (only one report of this by the way with no video), then it seems like there is some racial tension going on in the area and all the willfully ignorant people who earlier in the thread claimed that the other team was just being "patriotic" (LOL) have been shown to be more full of it. Consequently, everything I've said in this thread remains valid.

Even so, chanting "USA" is even dumber than chanting "whites" considering that everyone is in the USA and not everyone is white.

which makes those getting all ass hurt over hearing the chant "USA USA" the most stupid yet

In the long run, it does not matter who started saying these things or for what reason; what matters is the lasting effect on those who hold on to their perceived hurt. It is one thing to be victimized by hateful remarks or actions of another, it is an all together different thing to be re-hurt over and over. There comes a time when the role of victim become volitional and can be self destructive. Those people, collectively, need to come to terms with their respective circumstances otherwise the effects of this situation can be extremely detrimental and permanent both individually and as a community.

Or digging for racism where there is none. there is plenty of racism out there. I dont see why people feel the need to assume every display of white or american pride is racist.

No matter the context, how is this racist? How is "USA!" a racial slur?

Nobody said it was a slur; it's an act of prejudice.

Even if that's true, it's irrelevant to what the Alamo students did. Doesn't mean it was right, either, but "they did it too" doesn't excuse it.

It might denote racism, but it certainly denotes prejudice. And the only thing my comment say about me is that I'm capable of evaluating actions within the context in which they occur.
