In the long run, it does not matter who started saying these things or for what reason; what matters is the lasting effect on those who hold on to their perceived hurt. It is one thing to be victimized by hateful remarks or actions of another, it is an all together different thing to be re-hurt over and over. There comes a time when the role of victim become volitional and can be self destructive. Those people, collectively, need to come to terms with their respective circumstances otherwise the effects of this situation can be extremely detrimental and permanent both individually and as a community.
