sorry, but the way he spoke about Kennedy, removes any immunity he might have had from criticism post-mordum.

I did not claim he had immunity. Why do you have to make **** up to argue against what I say?

Re: Andrew Breitbart dies of 'natural causes,' website reports Read more: http://www

If how he treated Kennedy was inappropriate(I felt it was), then treating him that way is inappropriate as well. That is consistency.

I don't feel disparaging Kennedy was wrong simply because he died.

I agree which is why I haven't talked poorly of him. However, treating someone as they treated others is and speaking about the negative aspects of their legacy is not notable enough to read too much into the character of someone who does it. Talking so disparagingly of those who chose to speak negatively seems a bit ridiculous, particularly in light of who we're talking about.

To be fair, you did criticize people for criticizing Breitbart so that implies you don't think people should criticize Breitbart.

The manner in which he did it was wrong though. I do, however, remember Kennedy's death very well given I was in Boston for it. And I remember it here on DP and some of the people who are attacking Breitbart were defending Kennedy and vice versa.

Well said. It mutes the point if one does as they accuse Breitbart.

Re: Andrew Breitbart dies of 'natural causes,' website reports Read more: http://www

It's best to not talk poorly/insultingly in general, imo. Sure, Andrew, from what I've heard, was opinionated; that doesn't mean he deserves a tongue-lashing, especially after his death. Tbh it's poor character to berate any person who has just died and frankly I think people should be ashamed of the way they're talking about him. As an example I detest Rosie O'Donell; that said I don't really insult, and especially not right after her death.

People should have a bit more tact and common decency in general, imo.

I have no arguement here because I really do not know what he said. If it was factual, I would likely defend what he said. If not, I wouldn't.

I am sure this is true.

I am criticizing live people.

I agree in general...but apparently

Early this morning, news broke that Sen. Ted Kennedy had passed away after serving in the U.S. Senate for nearly 50 years. Soon after, conservative commentator Andrew Breitbart began a sustained assault on Kennedy’s memory, tweeting “Rest in Chappaquiddick.”

Over the course of the next three hours, Breitbart unapologetically attacked Kennedy, calling him a “villain,” “a big ass motherf@#$er,” a “duplicitous bastard” and a “prick.” “I’ll shut my mouth for Carter. That’s just politics. Kennedy was a special pile of human excrement,” wrote Breitbart in one tweet.

Re: Andrew Breitbart dies of 'natural causes,' website reports Read more: http://www

Hummm, I don't remember you doing that, and I don't really believe your last sentence, but it is hilarious that you're comparing Brietbart to those people. I think Andrew probably be flattered that he inspired such contempt from someone like you. /shrug

I agree. It's a bit sickening to compare Andrew to freaking dictators and serial killers, imo. What sort of nonsense is that?

Just because you disagree with a partisan doesn't give you the right to go overboard and compare them to murderers, LOL.

That is new info to me. Thank you.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

Perhaps there is some vague credibility to the notion of karma. Who knows.

Yes, I know. That's what I said. You criticized (live) people for criticizing Breitbart so that implies you don't think people should criticize Breitbart (aka he should be immune as Thunder said).

Maybe...I didn't know either until someone in the thread mentioned it so I looked it up.

Your posts just keep speaking for themselves.

Yes, I am fantastically aware that the leader of the global islamic terrorist 'organisation' known as Al-quaeda had better composure in public than this man. But then again he may have gotten to straight up shoot people in the back of the head. Nonetheless... this 'person' concerned... has a public image with much less composure than Osama.

Sorry

oh, we do indeed have that right.

however, I wasn't comparing him to those dictators & serial killers, I was simply giving examples of men that I talked **** about...both in life & death.

Assuming you refer to Andrew Breitbart, how can you say he has less composure than Osama bin Laden and expect to be taken seriously?

I'm sorry, but you really need to get off that high horse you've been on lately, as it is soo very hypocritical.

So you don't like Breitbart. I get it. OK, Breitbart did some despicble things, such as editing a video to show racism where none existed. I betcha dollars to donuts that you and I have done bad things too. We are human, after all. So why concentrate on the mote in Breitbart's eye, while ignoring the beam in your own eye?

Here is what I have to say - Farewell, Andrew, and God bless you.

Did Briebart ever show any genuine remorse for his actions....not that I can think of.

You know Dana, I was going to post something along similar lines. Until I read what he wrote when Kennedy died.

"After Sen. Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts died in 2009, Breitbart tweeted "Rest in Chappaquiddick" and called him "a special pile of human excrement." When critics questioned his tone, he tweeted they "missed my best ones!"

I will go as far as offering my condenlences to his family for their sorrow. But I'm gonna stop there. Far be it from me to say, "Good riddance to bad rubbish."

I think if Breitbart was able to watch this whole conversation, he'd be laughing his ass off at the folks defending him. He knew who he was, how he was, and made no apologies for it. There are more deserving people in this world, to be defended like this.

Re: Andrew Breitbart dies of 'natural causes,' website reports Read more: http://www

Can always count on you to say the right thing.

Consider the source.

This is what you wrote about the death of Murtha:

I never the lying sack of ****. He protested our troops on foreign soil, and filled his pockets with pork for 30 years. I mean look at the fat ass. The liberals, even those who haven't given the son of a bitch a second thought for years, are now coming out to feel sorry for the bastard.

Unless you can practice what you whine about, you should keep your thoughts to yourself.
