Honestly, with the way he editted videos he took it on himself for some of the attacks. Plus most people in this thread have been very respectful, even if they do not agree with him.

Honestly, given the way he reacted when Kennedy died, I am not surprised by some of the responses. He didn't treat the opposite side with any respect, and to his credit, he didn't act like he deserved any from them either.

Look, you can see in the first page of this thread that I kept politics out of it and only commented on his family (who I truly have the best wishes for knowing how hard it is to lose a parent). However, spare us the chastising of those who chose to take a less sympathetic route.

Less than 24 hours after Ted Kennedy's death:
Early this morning, news broke that Sen. Ted Kennedy had passed away after serving in the U.S. Senate for nearly 50 years. Soon after, conservative commentator Andrew Breitbart began a sustained assault on Kennedy’s memory, tweeting “Rest in Chappaquiddick.”

Over the course of the next three hours, Breitbart unapologetically attacked Kennedy, calling him a “villain,” “a big ass motherf@#$er,” a “duplicitous bastard” and a “prick.” “I’ll shut my mouth for Carter. That’s just politics. Kennedy was a special pile of human excrement,” wrote Breitbart in one tweet.

This happens every time a controversial political personality dies. Half the opposing side is respectful despite not liking the person and the other lets loose with the good riddance comments and sarcasm.

Curious just how natural the causes were, btw.

It's funny to see people uplifting him today as if A) anyone knew who the hell he was and B) he did anything remotely notable for the 'country'

Wow. I knew I would regret looking in this thread. Seriously, when did being vile become an accepted way of scoring political points? I may not have had any use for the guy, but he was still an american who worked to make the country better in the way he thought was best.

I feel bad for his family, a grieving family is always tough to see.

I didn't like the guy and felt his comments were over the top. Aside from that I didn't (still don't) respect the guy, but I do respect the grieving process his family is having to go through.

That should be the focus, the guy is gone. The family is the one that is left to deal with all of this and for that I truly wish them the best.

which included slamming kennedy when he died. we should not sink to breitbart's level just because he died.
