I should hope not, as our Founding Fathers were great men, way ahead of their time, of immense vision. Anonymous are just a bunch of loser malcontents, who could never make it in life, so instead they seek to make the lives of everyone else miserable....cause their misery desperately desires company. Just like the rest of the pseudo-revolutionaries on the net.

yes folks, you may quote these words as your own.

The people don't have any means, peaceful & legal or otherwise, to change legislation.

The only ones who can change legislation are legislators. And they won't change it because they get too much money the way things are now.
Also, we need to legalize recreational drugs and prostitution.

    #1. many states have referendums.

#2. we vote for every member of Congress & the President.

it is truly lazy to suggest we have no power to control our politicians.

#1 We don't have referendums on the federal level.

#2 It is too difficult to hold our politicians accountable when they do not do what we elect them to do.

Prior to July 1776 did the Founding Fathers advertise their presence and whereabouts to the British? (Did they even do it afterwords for that matter except for the more obvious army units?) Seems I remember a lot of Ben Franklin's stuff (among others) being written anonymously or with pen names. Stealth and secrecy are commonly used tools in almost every kind of warfare. In revolutions they're essential because the revolutionaries are unmanned and outgunned by the established government.

Here's what you don't get. We live in a two party, first past the post system. If we vote in a Democrat and he is an untrustworthy piece of crap, we then go Republican. But then that Republican ends up being just as much of an untrustworthy piece of crap as the Democrat was. This situation has been going on for quite some time. We need to have a peaceful nonviolent revolution to radically change the electoral system and many other elements of our government. Such as getting rid of union and corporate influence in the election process, creating a system where legislators are more accountable to the people they elected, and where the federal government does not have the power to kill US citizens (see this and this as well), spy on them illegally (see this), or detain them without trial (see this and this, just to name a few.

They did, however, sign their names to the Declaration of Independence, which would have meant death for them if the Brits had found them, or if we had lost the Revolution and the Brits caught up to them later. They may have used secrecy, but they still put themselves behind the cause of America publicly.

Unlike these anonymous idiots, who can claim ignorance if they are ever found.

Re: Anonymous Declares War on the US Government

While I do not agree 100% with what the hacker group is doing I do agree that many of the underhanded things the government does, for example try to control the internet as if though it is a physical place that can be controlled is very bad. SOPA was very bad. This government becoming more and more plutocratic is even worse.

I think in their case, doing this to certain sites is one thing; it proves a point about these sites security and in the long run the end consumer is going to get a better deal thanks to these guys. In this case though these people, many of them likely college age or even far younger run a lot of very bad risks. I would suggest to these fellas to wait until they can vote or form a coalition that votes out the men and women that are destroying the US rather than try to take matters totally in their own hands. Their hearts are in the right place but their actions are not.
