Christie: Buffett Should

“I’m tired of hearing about it,” Christie told CNN’s Piers Morgan in an interview that aired last night. “If he wants to give the government more money, he’s got the ability to write a check. Go ahead and write it.”

Awe Poor Mister Christie

Wants big bad Buffet to go away and shut up

No, what he wants is for a major obama slurper to quit being dishonest and put his money where his mouth is (ie firmly planted on obama's posterior)

Elaborate please?

It's pretty self-explanatory. Buffet whines about how the rich should pay more, and he can voluntarily give the feds as much extra money as he wants to, but he doesn't really want to do that. If he really wanted to, he would. He just likes to play the benevolent nobleman without having to do anything concrete.

Much of what he does benefits him in the long run. An Obama re election will make him more money

Yes, people should not express opinions I disagree with. That's the America I want.

Nothing at all wrong with expressing opinions. He is free to actually live by them as well.

It's his opinion that we should raise taxes on the wealthy, not that the wealthy should voluntarily give up more money. The conservatives on this thread are purposefully misunderstanding his point. Him paying more wouldn't do ****. Every wealthy person paying more would.

what is funny is watching lefties lap up the crap Buffett squeezes out thinking he spews this nonsense because he CARES about the poor

Buffett wants dems to win elections because Dems make him more money.

actually all that would do is cause the government to waste even more money. Even if everyone in the top 2% were taxed at 100% over 100K, that wouldn't come close to making up the deficit and such actions would merely encourage the other classes to demand more spending making things worse

taxing the rich more will never provide the rest of America with an incentive to spend less or demand less government

What a horridly simplified critique of Buffets view.

feel free to post one that you believe is more accurate

that he pays himself a lower salary than his secretary and then whines she pays a higher tax rate is really a gut buster when it comes to GIVE ME A BREAK hypocrisy

How are dems making him more money?

Untruthful?

Obama tried to kill that pipeline-who stands to benefit--Railroads

Obama wants to jack up the death tax rate-guess who benefits from that--insurance companies that sell life insurance

guess what B-H owns?

Railroads and insurance companies

As usual, such a statement carries no weight and is simply a talking point. What is achieved if Buffet writes the Treasury a check for $1 billion? 1/1300th of the deficit is reduced :wow: Buffets sentiment (imo) is spot on for a very simple reason; the most efficient way to raise revenue without (pay attention hacks, this is important) negatively impacting economic growth is for the wealthiest of Americans to effectively pay more in taxes.

You may disagree with raising taxes, but nobody can state with any sort of accuracy that the bold is incorrect or invalid.

This is an open challenge for anyone to try: Bring it!

Which would not solve the problem that he sees with how the rules are. Sorry, explaining why the rules are flawed does not make you a hypocrite.

Oddly, as much as you insult Buffett, you have yet to actually counter his point. You just spew out insults and think you have made a point.

When people cannot counter some one's point, they are forced to simply go after the person. It's a sign of a weak position.

What do you expect? His position is based ENTIRELY on emotion. Not one iota of financial economic analysis is involved when he writes such comments.

Are we defining the revocation of exemptions as a backdoor tax increase?
