I am talking of human behavior in wars..... soldiers are in an aggressive mindset.... not passive that's what I mean. They can not walk on eggshells.

I thought it was a reasonable request, until I realized we are in a stone age society that actually thinks the Taleban has it just about right when it comes to things like educating women and human rights. I'm sick of sob stories about the frickin' Koran. I'm way more interested in stories about Afghan 'allies' that decide to start shooting us.

agreed but soldiers are also professionals and are trained to adapt to any situation. This current war requires a basic understanding of the local people and their beliefs and who ever burned the Korans ( mistake or not) failed to do his job.

Yes, they were far better off when they were governed by those throwing acid in the faces of young girls who dared to go to school and providing training camps for Osama bin Laden.

Its their holy book though something that means more to them than their own family ( rightly or wrongly). You just can't go burning it and expect a reasonable response.

No, they won't. Maybe in the Muslim world, but thankfully although there are a lot of them most of them are living in huts somewhere.

It's a lot easier to burn them than flush them down the latrine I suppose. Damn. Ain't war hell?

I don't expect any rational response for most of these people about anything. If it was up to me, I'd have every American soldier out of there tomorrow and let them kill each other in whatever imaginable ways they can think of.
