Here's a hint the "boyfriend" is full of ****. Blackmail is a big crime, and any lawyer with his salt would have had his client contact the FBI.. get the irrefutable evidence of the blackmail. Put the bastard in prison, maybe get some big $$ from the Sheriffs dept for the pain and suffering...

The text messages — many still saved on Jose's cell phone — appear to be sent from Babeu's business cell phone. Babeu identifies himself on his voice mail and says he is the sheriff of Pinal County.

The reality of it all is going to be that he and this man had a nasty break up and he made stupid threats of a lover scorned. Wrong, absolutely. But had far less to do with the hypocrisy you are so claiming, and more to do with the pain of love and loss. His lover from all I have seen is here ""legally". I know my lean shows other. taking some of the questionaires, I come out centrist or conservative. I am not left by any means. Definately conservative on budget / govt spending.
It did surprise me the Dan.. was so ready to condemn Paul B. He is one of the better sheriffs in AZ.

If the "boyfriend" talked to new times, funny how he has yet to come forward. His lawyer says maybe in a few days.

It is all allegations at this point. The lawyer or boyfriend has not provided any proof, other than the news story.

Interestingly, Babeu lives in a more liberal area of the state. He still has a decent chance of being elected. That's not really odd. If he lived and ran for Congress in Phoenix, after coming out, they would have already thrown him over the fence and shot his dogs.

I'm an Independent or as some on the extreme right would say, I am a "True" Independent. LOL! So far it isn't Democrats or Independents that are fleeing the Babeu campaign ship. It's conservatives. Most Democrats and I would venture to guess, a significant amount of independents wouldn't give a fat rat's ass what Babeu sexuality was. What the hell does that have to do with his job? He hid his sexuality from his conservative base!!! There's no mistake about that. Some conservative donors have asked for their money back. IMHO Babeu may pick up more liberal votes than the conservative votes he'll lose.
