Saudi Arabia says no to women Olympians

the white South Africans became natives too...after a few generations. and it was THEIR culture, to see blacks as inferior.
who were we, to try to change South African culture...right?

;)

That's quite common with colonists.. to mistreat the natives.

Saudi Arabia is Muslim and Arab... They don't have any illegal european immigration.

nor any legal European immigration, for that matter.

and if you're a Jew, don't even think of trying to come to the country, even for a visit.

yeah, that's freedom alright. ;)

Arabia has a homogenous population...

My Jewish Nephew traveled to Saudi Arabia for two weeks last year.. toured the whole country.

But, I think you have to question why the average Jewish person would want to go to Arabia considering the Palestinian refugee population.

I have met American Jews traveling on US passports in Arabia trying to sell financial instruments to rich Arabs. They were not successful because they had heavy NY accents and Arabs tend to invest in tangibles.

I want to see Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, and Bosnia. Would that me a problem too?

Don't quote scripture to me when you have little understanding.. of the overall culture and have never lived in Arabia.

The biggest thing you can beat your wife with is a Miswak....There's very little domestic violence because the husband would have to deal with his wife's father, brothers and sons.. and because divorce is readily in Arabia.

This is where you are mistaken. I have an excellent understanding after many years of research and study. I understand the two faces Muhammad. The peaceful Muhammad of Mecca and the warrior Muhammed of Medina that forced conversion by the sword. Who then went on to conquer Mecca. A self declared prophet that murdered, raped, and pillaged. Fine example he was.

"Muhammad was a narcissist, a pedophile, a mass murderer,
a terrorist, a misogynist, a lecher, a cult leader, a madman,
a rapist, a torturer, an assassin and a looter"
Former Muslim Ali Sina offered $50,000 to anyone
who could prove otherwise based on Islamic texts.
The reward has gone unclaimed

Anyway back to the subject of this thread. Since SA will not allow women from their country to participate in the Olympics should they be banned from the games?

Fine with me..

Saudi Arabia is not an absolute monarchy in the European sense.. They have to gain consensus from clergy, extended family, merchants, technocrats etc..

If they aren't ready for Saudi women in the Olympics.. that's their choice.

Yes and when they join the 21st century they should be allowed to participate in the olympic games.

Hahahahaha..

You could say that about many countries...........

100%.

keep them out until they mature.

That's an odd remark..

I am frankly against imposing US values and culture on others against their will.

Women's rights in Saudi Arabia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

women, regardless of age, are required to have a male guardian. Women cannot vote or be elected to high political positions.[1] However, King Abdullah has declared that women will be able to vote and run in the 2015 local elections, and be appointed to the Consultative Assembly.[2] Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world that prohibits women from driving. The World Economic Forum 2009 Global Gender Gap Report ranked Saudi Arabia 130th out of 134 countries for gender parity. It was the only country to score a zero in the category of political empowerment

They should not be banned from the olympics because their ways do not coincide with ours. The olympics are for sports, not politics.

Erm, what European sense? Euro monarchs (where they exist) currently have very little power. Euro monarchs of the dark ages would have needed the consensus you outlined here.

I was speaking of old monarchies..

It's not really politics when athletic ability is being measured across varied standards on a global scale. Don't meet those standards, don't apply to the Olympics.

As I said, the Euro monarchists of the dark ages were bound by the same limitations of family, clergy and tradesmen. That shows how backward the Sauds are.

Oh they aren't backwards at all.. Sitting in the room talking with the Sudeiri Seven you are in the presence of 500 years of experience in good governance, careful planning and cautious reform.
