Clinton in talks about possible move to World Bank

Is it too much to ask that she at least minored in economics or finance in college, or perhaps worked as a teller in high school?

Do you know what the World Bank does?

Why exactly isn't Hillary a good canidate?

Seriously, I'd ask why is she a good candidate? Personally, I am fed the hell up with political families in America. I didn't like the idea of the Kennedy's, I loathed the Bush's, the Cheney's, the Powells, the Pelosis and the Clintons and on and on.

What is it with America? Why do we NEED to continue to vote for political families? Is Hillary great for the World Bank? Compared to what?

Says who? First of all, the World Bank isn't just some fancy multinational corporation like other banks. It's an international institution, and like the head of the IMF he doesn't necessarily need to have experience in banking, or even in the private sector to do his or her job. Secondly, for your information, the first two presidents of the World Bank were a newsman and a lawyer/cabinet Secretary.

World Bank and the IMF are different. I would expect the Head of the IMF to have deep understanding of finance whatever their major. The World Bank's role is about providing loans and aids for development, not international finance.

She's a good candidate because she cares about development and helping poor people - the goal of the World Bank. Her history in her husband's administration, her knowledge of American politics, her relationship with other world leaders and those in the philanthropic community, and even her connection with her husband - another person who is big in development circle, could all help her do better than other possible candidates in this role. On the other hand, the fact that she has deep connection to those already in charge could also mean she can't change the "development industry". But overall, I think she would do very well in this job.

Uh right. Hence my comment?

At this point we know a few things. 1) She started out as a lawyer, 2) she's since been ingrained in American politics, 3) she is looking to progress to the final stage: world banking.

Huh? Are you confusing me with someone else?

The World Bank is not about "world banking". Institutes that come close to that are the IMF and the BIS.

Obama is toast and the quicker eveyone accepts that and stops this game of musical chairs the Admin. is playing w/ its cabinet, and trying to appear responsive to it base, the better off everone else will be. For all intents and purposes, Mitt Romney could very easily be a Democratic Leadership Council, Democrat. A corporatist is a corporatist.

Good answer! I still don't like her in the least, but I can't argue with your response.

You think he should just resign? I mean, why even bother, right? He's just polling 6% ahead of the closest GOP contender after all.

A turtle would be better than Paul Wolfowitz.

We already have one in the Senate.

My preference would be for Ms. Clinton to take the job as Vice President. She will add to the ticket both in terms of excitement and appeal to voters. And if anything happened to President Obama, I would have faith that she could do the job required.

Hillary was popular among seniors, but shes incompetent. Funny thing is, I told everyone to vote for Obama, but when election time came, I thought suddenly that he seemed phony for some reason, so i skipped the election. As it turned out, I was right. O'bummer is a NeoCon Republican. Anyways Hillary is a fascist warmonger.

"Since the US State Department literally is directing armies of protesters and their armed counterparts in the streets from Tunisia to Syria, from Belarus to Moscow, and from Myanmar to Bangkok and Malaysia, it would indeed make sense to reconfigure it into something more suitable to oversee warfare rather than diplomacy. It is the US State Department from which organizations like the National Endowment for Democracy and its myriad of seditious-sowing NGOs stem from and go forth manipulating foreign governments rather than dealing with them as equal sovereign states, a long running theme pursued throughout the upper echelons of the "globocratic" elite."

She's former Secretary of State of the largest most influential nation in the world. I don't think there's a position out there that's a better resume for President of the World Bank.

I think she can do more good as World Bank President than she could do as Vice President.

Hillary Clinton thinks that she has to antagonize foreign governments/ entire groups in order to legitimize herself or to springboard her success. (Somehow people think that what makes them a leader or a stand up gal they need to threaten Irans population with nuclear attack.) What a tryrant.

Displaying more of her disdain for the human rights of others, as well as violating the Geneva Conventions, while using numerous drone attacks on Pakistan and other nations, Hillary Clinton shows how ruthless she really is in her reaction to the news of Quaddafi's death, she appears almost gleeful.

What kind of leaders are we hiring in this country, who use the illegal killing of foreignheads of state to legitimize their power base and popularity?

"Hillary Clinton joked with a TV news reporter moments after she learned that Muammar Gaddafi had been killed in Libya.

"She told the reporter, "'We came, we saw, he died' as she learned of the dictator's grisly end.

What?

No threads about Lady Gaga or Kim Kardashian?

Man, you people are always censoring the important stuff!

Maybe that is why it is corrupt. Or is that Darth Wolfowitz's doing as well?
