the government, passing a law requiring a woman to stick something up their vagina?

the people of Virginia should rise up in protest against this.

furthermore, if I was a pregnant woman who wanted to have an abortion, and someone told me I had to shove that thing inside of me first, I'd say "**** you, this is my body, not your playground"

Why, they didn't when the Government said it was okay to kill unborn children, but a 5 min procedure is too much to ask...

Besides, maybe if she hadn't "stuck something up her vagina" a few weeks earlier, irresponsibly, this wouldn't happen.

The Government should not be mandating mandatory medical tests that have no medical reason for them being conducted, especially tests that come at the expense of the person. There is no medical reason, what so ever, for this procedure to occur. This is the government mandating to a citizen that they must purchase a specific good or service (a vaginal ultrasound). That's absolutely and unquestionably not the role or puprose of government. This is wrong and is a stark violation of conservative ideology unless one entirely discards the notion of small and limited government in favor of big Social Conservatism. Should we strive to reduce and perhaps even eliminate abortions? Absolutely. However, the method to do that should not be empowering the state with authority it has no business having, mandating that private citizens purchase unnecessary services, and expanding the power of the state. This is plainly and completely wrong.

However, forgive me if I don't really care about the indignation or crying by the democratic delogate when one of her collegues felt that two wrongs makes a right and that having things forcefully shoved into men was also the correct course of legislative action to take.

As a Virginian, this legislation troubles me greatly. I don't want the Virginia State Legislature having power over what medical procedures I should or should not be undertaking and this gives them that power.

I'm sure your vote for the local democrats will be appreciated.

You'e also A-OK with the Government forcing people to PURCHASE health Insurance, but a 5 minute procedure? Your false outrage is quite emotionally based.
The unborn are not citizens, if they were we wouldn't allow abortion to begin with, first off.

Secondly, I think men should be able to "divorce" themselves from the child before it is born. Once it's born though, it's their responsibility.

And I think the government has a role to play in our lives, it should provide the basic needs and protections for it's people, to put it very simply. It shouldn't be controlling people's lives like this.

They are, we just ignore that for political ideology. Kinda like how we used to allow slavery...

And if they aren't notified of the pending birth? What then? "Oh sorry sir, you should have filed the paperwork before the child was born, you owe 55% of your paycheck plus 5 years of back child support.

American citizens are "born", look it up. An "unborn citizen" is an oxymoron. Performing medical procedures as punishment for acts some disapprove of is not a valid excuse.

It's not punishment. It's informing the ignorant of their soon to be very lethal actions towards an innocent human. You are heartless sir.

And what a fetus *actually* looks like at the first trimester mark:

How'd you like to take that "baby" to a ball game?
